I feed the raccoons that drop by cat food so I have a lot of that, mostly Meow Mix since it’s cheap.

I feed a feral cat and Racoons and Possums drop by too. But they are wonderful, not demons. The demons are the wild rats that steal from good creatures.
Even rats can be domesticated and become sweet and cute, as individuals, but they tend to repopulate and roam in vast numbers, raping and pillaging, getting into walls and even chewing wires inside an outdoor treadmill.
Have-a-heart traps to remove them, is way too slow. Best to vigilantly remove their source of sustenance.
You’ve got me concerned now about raping and pillaging rats. I’ll keep an eye out for them. My cat Eddie used to eat about one a day, but he’s gone now.
Do the rats just rape other rats or do I need to be concerned about my raccoon friends?

Racoons and Possums are fine, but they tend to eat rats only as carrion.
