Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will reportedly schedule a vote Wednesday on whether to transmit the Articles of Impeachment to the United States Senate, reports NBC News.

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday that the House will vote Wednesday to send the two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate, three sources in a Democratic caucus meeting told NBC News on Tuesday,” reports NBC News.

“Sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate is necessary to begin the trial. Pelosi on Wednesday will also name the House ‘managers’ who will prosecute the case against Trump in the Senate,” adds the website.

If sent on Wednesday, a trial in the Senate could begin as early as Tuesday of next week.

The Speaker has held the Articles since voting to impeach President Trump last December; saying she would not send the documents until reaching an agreement with Sen. Mitch McConnell on the trial’s rules and procedures.
