A longtime aide of Sen. Kamala Harris abruptly resigned this week after a local newspaper learned of a $400,000 ‘harassment and retaliation settlement” against the staffer while working for Harris at the California Department of Justice.
“Longtime top Harris staff member Larry Wallace resigned Wednesday after The Bee asked about a $400,000 harassment and retaliation settlement related to his work for Harris at the California Department of Justice,” writes the Sacramento Bee.
A spokesperson for the outspoken Senator and potential 2020 candidate claimed Harris was “unaware” of the accusation.
“We were unaware of this issue and take accusations of harassment extremely seriously,” Harris spokeswoman Lily Adams said. “This evening, Mr. Wallace offered his resignation to the senator, and she accepted it.”
