Yup…there I go again, recommending we do good stuff, that gasp, other countries have done.

Agreed.
On this point, it is all you.

Do the same what?

Your good. Not mine.

We have passed numerous laws, including two amendments, to correct the issue. Children are taught about the horrors of slavery and Jim Crow in school.

What else is there to be done from a systemic level?

There is no legal discrimination in the United States federal or state level governments.

There are individual abuses of minority citizens by agents of the state, but what those agents do is illegal and there are means to punish them under the law.

Teach about the atrocities the German government and people did during those dark years in the 30’s and 40’s.

We need to take the same approach regarding our atrocities, and teach the whole story.

We have been, and in many ways, still are, a racist country, and that we are also an anti-racist country.

Teaching, remembering all of the history, is not a good thing?

Ok…

I am sorry your education failed you so hard.

Your history. Not mine.

Done.

Regarding the teachings…they touch on it, but do not get into the details that have been mostly hidden, or not talked about. Who knew about Juneteenth? Or the massacre in Tulsa in 1921? There are so many more stories like those that do not get taught…I was not taught about those, and I was raises in CA in the 70’s.

I do not agree with your assessment of where race issues are today…and that is fine. We can disagree, and hopefully, still get along.

Are you?

Was not just me.

Did they teach about the massacre in 1921 in Tulsa at your school? (not college)

History.,it is not yours or mine.

It simply, is. If it happen, it is history.

Bull feces.

Every Texan born after 1865.

I certainly did.

You was raises in CA? Then maybe you learned CA history instead of Texas and Oklahoma history?

It is high school, not a masters in US history.
