They are a private business serving the public. If you wish to run a business then you pretty much have no choice but to go by the guidelines set by the society you choose to do business within, right?
Similar to rentals here in NJ. If you live in a 2-3 family house and choose to rent out the remaining space, you can discriminate all you want. It’s really not a business. But you can’t do that if you don’t live there.
