President Trump ended days of speculation surrounding the future of his Deputy Attorney General Monday; saying he has no plans on terminating Rod Rosenstein in the wake of an explosive “wire” report.
The President was speaking with reporters following a high-stakes meeting with Rosenstein aboard Air Force One when he was asked if had any intention of firing the Deputy Attorney General.
“No, I don’t. No,” said Trump.
“Thank you as well to our Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for being here, flew down together,” Trump said at an event in Florida attended by Rosenstein. “The press wants to know, ‘What did you talk about?’ ‘We had a very good talk,’ I will say. That became a very big story, actually. We had a good talk.”
Rosenstein found himself in hot-water just days ago following a New York Times report that claimed he offered to secretly record President Trump inside the Oval Office, then use the material to remove him from office.
