Pope Francis has Died

i saw Pope John Paul as a kid, not in a personal meeting type of way but he came to the city i lived in and we got there at 1am to get the best seats.

Our parish priest who was a concentration camp survivor said mass with Pope John Paul.

Its a day I still remember vividly and is one of the few things we did as a family. Good memories.

That belongs in our “Worst Media” thread too.

If there’s way to cheat his way in… :grinning:

This is an actual post from the official White House account.

So pathetic. Like truly, truly pathetic.

Wooh that’s tacky.

Wow an American Pope. No one saw that coming but we have Pope Francis to thank. Historically the Catholic Church shyed away from Superpowers but Francis reiterated that the Church is a church for the entire globe.

Cardinal Robert Prevost will be I think Pope Leo XIV

They should convert the pope-mobile to a 1986 IROC-Z to celebrate this. And the pope hat should be changed to look like a mullet. America, ■■■■ yeah.

There was a theory floating out there that US wouldn’t get a pope while it ran the world politically culturally and economically …

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Who did we bribe for this?!!

So what changed…in your opinion?

We bribed someone. Or the CIA disappeared some folks.

I’m being a joker but hey it kind of fits. More than likely we were really overdue for one and like our resident Brit said, Francis wanted the church to be more in tune with global political developments. Can’t just keep acting like we don’t exist.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it came down to an American pope or a Chinese pope but we won out in the end.

At least the crowd is not booing him.
