Party switches of 2025

this is a thread for significant party switches this year.
heres the first one.

“Walsh announced his formal affiliation with the Democratic Party in a Tuesday Substack post, saying he made the decision because he views the Republican Party as a threat to democracy and the rule of law and thinks defeating the GOP requires “a broad coalition of moderates, progressives, and, yes, even conservatives.”

“Three words I never thought I’d ever utter: I’m a Democrat. This former Republican Congressman, former Republican candidate for President, this former TEA Party champion is formally joining the Democratic Party. The stakes are simply too high to NOT become a Democrat,” Walsh wrote in his Substack post, before outlining his reasoning.“

could stomach trump and his MAGA minions, so he switched to dem.

shoulda have seen the handwriting on the wall back in 2020 when he switched from republican to independent.

but better late than never.

Allan

Are you the first one?

Joe Walsh?

The guy who did, “Ordinary Average Guy” ??

This Joe Walsh’s views are more aligned with the Dims. You know, open borders, defund the police, citizenship, free medical, EBT, housing for illegals. Then he absolutely is enthralled with gender indoctrination of minors without parental consent, “drag queen story hour” for kindergarteners and men cheating women out of sports competition then strutting around naked in female locker rooms. Oh, and that Dimbulbcrat education plan lowering standards and graduating functional literates from high school. Gotta keep the dumbasses well, dumb!
Walsh is right where he belongs

Gotta say though. Guitar work on Hotel California among the best.

he was tea party and then MAGA and then saw the light.

its okay politicians change parties on occasion.

one of yours became one of ours.

it works both ways.

Allan

Why would I care about someone who hasn’t been in office for 12 years?

Making a BIG comeback and getting the band together.

His band is getting back together? Freakin’ awesome!

He was never a Republican except by his own assertion.

Just like men who think they are women by their own assertion flock to the Dems, so too does Walsh (the politician) belong there.

Amusing. Does this count? I was going to switch to independent but my state doesn’t require party registration so no one cares.

What is the relevance of a party switch of a not member of congress? That is counter balanced if my neighbor switches to the GOP.

the grapes are mighty sour these days.

Allan

If you truly think my reply was sour grapes, you are more stupid than I give you credit for.

i was sour grapes because you think he wasnt a republican to begin with.

he was.

Allan

You said it. And reinforced my opinion of you.

So he is out and proud now?

Was he, or was he just another finger in the wind politician?
