Parental choice v clinical need

Why complicate something simple? They don’t separate or label the blood according to the vaccination status, and they’re not going to start just for this. It ain’t broke.

Sorry- disagree.

I know.
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - As Lowcountry blood services navigate a blood shortage, they are also fielding questions about blood donations from those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The medical screening practices for blood donor eligibility after vaccination against several conventional infectious agents are well known to blood transfusion centres worldwide.

So they consider it going in but not going out?

These parents share a concern held by many and has been going on long enough, that this should have been addressed long ago…period.

Kaiser Health News wrote on Tuesday that health care professionals have been encountering a problematic situation: Some patients who have resisted COVID-19 vaccines are demanding blood transfusions only from unvaccinated donors.

Right now, they should be more concerned about their infant sick heart.

Tell me…since the vaccine is linked to cases of myocarditis, how do you think it may effect this heart surgery? Do you think there’s been any studies?

There is no vaccine left in the blood. Only antibodies.

…and it has a 95% efficacy too.

And there you have it. All’s well that ends well.

I already followed that and saw where the government took over after the judge ruled it that way. I would not have come to the same conclusion as these parents and would agree with your’s. What is the issue that I question, is the government intervention. That said, above all, I hope the child is ok.

Remind me- are you one of the people here who is pro-government intervention when it comes to banning abortion?

No. Government…stay out of it. It was sent back for the states to decide for themselves and I agree. Regarding abortion, I think it’s wrong but I am guilty of it…so what can I say?

Maybe the parents should have donated their own blood.

They wouldn’t necessarily be matches, though that would’ve been a good solution.

I’m going to look into this where I live.

I still have pure blood, they can get a pint from me. :sunglasses:
