Here is an interesting history lesson. The actual observance is based on a man who brought Christianity to a pagan people.
Has anyone spent time in Ireland to see how it’s observed there? My limited understanding is it’s more an observation of the spiritual and lasts more than one day.
We were over there last year for about 12 days but left 3 or 4 days before St Patrick’s day.
My wife is about 40 percent Irish and has a lot of interest in Ireland so we go over there every 3 or 4 years.
I never paid much attention to Ireland or St Patrick’s day before i met her (being neither Irish nor Catholic) but have found it(Ireland) to be both interesting and pretty countryside. The green fields remind me of Tennessee.
Still have very little interest in St Patrick’s day though.
