I hope that this rubs off.

One can hope, but the messaging coming from the top, the thought(or lack thereof) that liberties are being taken way by wearing a mask and of course the belief that COVID-19 is some vast liberal hoax/conspiracy is going to make things very difficult for Alabama and many of the so-called red states. To be honest, even here in the MD(a blue state) there are still many being defiant about wearing a mask.

Is that why California is having problems? Is that why the cities are still the biggest hotspots?

We have 3 local hospitals with 0 ICU beds available. Not only is that bad for those suffering from SARS-CoV-2, but we’re in an area with a massive elderly population. Emergencies are being diverted over 45 minutes away. I don’t care who has what numbers, it’s bad here. We’re frightened, we’re being lied to and no one knows who to trust. Last month our community Facebook page had taken to announcing Gov. Cuomo’s daily briefings just so we can get information.

I-95 runs north too ya know…

We just bought our first house together in April, so it’s very easy to isolate…so much to do. We were thinking of going north to NYC for a few months, but my daughter is an RN and with my auto-immune issues, it’s not a good idea.
