Bombshell story from the Times tonight that intelligence officials gave President Trump proof that Vladimir Putin was responsible for interfering in the 2016 election, yet Trump continued to hedge and deny.

WASHINGTON — Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.
The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.
Mr. Trump sounded grudgingly convinced, according to several people who attended the intelligence briefing. But ever since, Mr. Trump has tried to cloud the very clear findings that he received on Jan. 6, 2017, which his own intelligence leaders have unanimously endorsed.
The lack of strength and urgency despite the findings of his intelligence officials is yet another cog in this story.
If this is true, every time Trump opened his mouth on the subject he was orchestrateing a cover up. And tonight I am already hearing lawyers saying that he therefore violated his oath of office. This should be interesting. Can’t wait for the WH reaction.
This whole thing could’ve been avoided with three simple steps:
Actually divest himself of his business interests into a blind trust or whatever.
Not talk about the investigation a la Clinton’s impeachment.
Not fire Jim Comey.
He does those three things, this never gains serious political traction, the FBI settles for a single sacrificial victim to throw to the crowd-Paul Manafort most likely-and life rolls merrily onward.
Instead, he’s almost guaranteed he’s going to leave office in disgrace. If he gets to leave voluntarily.
Watching fat ass Trump being dragged from the White House in chains will be awesome. When the Marshal Service drags him face down across the driveway, the vast majority of America will cheer.

They included stolen emails from the Democratic National Committee that had been seen in Russian military intelligence networks by the British, Dutch and American intelligence services. Officers of the Russian intelligence agency formerly known as the G.R.U. had plotted with groups like WikiLeaks on how to release the email stash.
And ultimately, several human sources had confirmed Mr. Putin’s own role.
So we’ve crossed the rubicon.
