If you support far left riots, the siege of government buildings and illegal street takeovers, then you’re good to go. This is certainly illegal. But the mayor and governor are also leftists, so the law will be ignored. In other words, the Marxist mob is above the law. That’s why they have ordered police not to enforce the laws they have taken an oath to enforce.

Local, state, and federal authorities selectively enforce the law all the time. It’s not clear why no one was arrested during this latest protest. That fact, though, doesn’t mean the law is always ignored. For example …
Police announced early Friday morning that six people had been arrested during the protest. All six were charged with disorderly conduct. Five of them were also charged with interfering with a peace officer; two were also charged with rioting.

Sure. Sounds good. But that doesn’t mean every protest has to end in arrests and if a protest doesn’t end in arrests it doesn’t mean that decision was politically motivated.
It’s certainly politicly motivated. There is zero chance they would the proud boys to shut down a street. But no, everything doesn’t have to end in arrest. I would give them some leeway. The local police should be controlling the crowd. ICE has neither the training nor the manpower to do so. I would let the mob scream, hold signs and hurl insults. But the moment they hurl anything else, I would take the violator away in cuffs. Same thing if they laid hands on an officer or vandalize a vehicle.

Lemme help again. Cuz I’m pretty good at it. When a permit is used, it’s the po-leece who shut down the street. Not some helmeted goon in all black with a gas mask. Is it starting to come together for you yet?

First of all not at all necessarily. Police can provide security or be present but that’s not a requirement.
Second of all are you sure the police weren’t there or that a permit wasn’t issued?

A street closure is illegal. And a risk to public safety. It would be better if Portland simply enforced the law before somebody gets killed and the city has to cough up 30 million bucks like Seattle did.

This is unfair.
There are THREE categories of people above the law.
- Those who come here illegally
- Those who work here illegally
- Those who block traffic, obstruct cops, throw objects and break things to help criminals in the first two groups.
