No Fox. It wasn't the gun's fault

A horrible hunting accident happens, and Fox uses liberal talking points. The rifle didn’t “go off.” That literally never happens. Three things had to happen. The muzzle had to be pointed at a person, the rifle had to be passed over the fence with the safety off and somebody squeezed the trigger. Without all three of those things, the rifle will not discharge. It certainly did not “go off.” Accidentally shot would be accurate. Saying the rifle “went off” is untrue. This is exactly why rifles have a safety. Not to diminish the hell this family is going through. But blaming the firearm won’t help.

Obviously he irresponsibly passed a loaded gun which is what allowed this to happen.

I think the article is more about not blaming a friend for the negligence rather than any liberal talking about.

It’s pretty clear that you are right

It sounds like they got a little complacent.

Never put yourself or anyone else at the business end of a rifle.
Never pass a rifle to someone without the safety on.
And keep your fingers away from the trigger until you are ready to fire.

Three big mistakes. The rifle was fired. It didn’t “go off.”

That’s a sad story.

Only in hannity land can that turn into an attack on liberals.

Maybe it was murder.

FoxNews seemed to be pushing a narrative as to how it was no one’s fault that the killing happened, not some liberal anti-gun message.

That’s irresponsible…they should be pushing safe handling of weapons.

Correct.

There is that possibility too.
