New Bipartisan immigration bill

Returning to discussion about the proposed bill itself, I liked this article.

It points out that all the various philosophies regarding immigration get something in it.

I imagine one gang might dig a few tunnels,
which is far different from a wide open border,
BPS cutting the razor wire and fist-bumping illegals as they enter.

The current administration practice seems to be to enforce the law on immigration to the complete extent possible. The idea being that someone who might consider crossing the border illegally or overstaying a visa should known that they can never be assured of peace while living here illegally.
I get that.
As a practical matter, many Hispanic voters did not want newly crossing illegals from central and South America taking their jobs and crashing their neighborhoods. They may feel differently about sending back their aunt who crossed thirty years ago.
It might make sense to take the political effects into account.

Discriminating between the two is a tricky proposition.
