Not to split hairs but how much fentanyl is seized at other points of entry away from the southern border. She did not claim deaths from fentanyl were at an all time low.

But I will say it again, Americans have a massive desire to use mind altering drugs and it is that demand that fuels the drug trade.

Some fascinating facts about drug use here.

Legalize it all just like alcohol. The billions we spend each year can be better used elsewhere. Yes illegal drug trade will continue just like it does with alcohol and tobacco but thats no reason not to legalize it all.

I can see good reasons why we might not want to legalize heroin, meth etc and I have mixed feelings on that.

What? Do you think fentanyl is better than heroin or something?

I could smell the stench of that statement before I even opened the thread.

Fentanyl is a poison…Not a drug.

At least it’s a poison in the hands of non-professionals.

Fentanyl was part of the anesthesia mix when I recently had surgery.

Its a drug an extremely lethal drug. its classified as a schedule II controlled substance.

But yes many times its cut with other drugs but obviously has true medicinal purposes for pain control.

Not at all fentanyl was included in my “etc”

There is part of me that thinks all drugs should be legalized. Just like if i want to drink myself to death then why not drug myself to death. There are millions of recreational drug users in the US who are fully functional productive members of society.

But I also recognize that with the more lethal drugs there needs to be stronger more rigorous safeguards.

Legalized recreational drugs Needs to be regulated similar to how alcohol and tobacco is.

Yet our government, in their infinite wisdom, STILL has weed as a schedule 1 drug despite clear evidence there is medical value in marijuana.

Agreed - It is idiotic and ridiculous.

It’s certainly a stark inconsistency you’re highlighting.

Not really, there is nothing wrong in I having a mixed opinion. As I said there is a part of me that thinks all drugs should be legalized but also understand that the likes of heroin, fentanyl, meth etc are incredibly addictive and dangerous.

But its a moot point the US is unlikely to legalize marijuana anytime soon let alone any other drug.

It’s not just about the victims, it’s about the unscrupulous people who use addictive product to enslave people.

You can describe virtually any medicine that way.

The pain things has been shot down.

That drives me nuts. If we were starting from scratch today, pot would be legal and alcohol would be scheduled

You are so right. This connects into other dark sides of society such a human trafficking, sex trade etc.

I have no answer for that. Lots of ideas but no answers.

Have to say though, advertising sugar to children should be treated the same way.

I call bull ■■■■ on that. One study and you glean that to be absolute fact?

So, you’ll look at a study and deem it truth. I don’t.

They know libs will accept it regardless.
