Massive protest in Iran

hollow words for someone who thinks the nation was founded with Christian values.

Allan

hollow to you because you seem to hate the idea of christianity in a nation. i’ll let you deal with that

Yes, but that doesn’t rebut my statement. Slavery has been around since humans formed Tribes and societies … everywhere in the world and regardless of the particular religious beliefs of those involved. Pretending that the Founders of this Nation were responsible for it and thus had a Christian obligation to end it is just stupid.

i dont care what people religion is. we have freedom of religion as it should be. what i do object to as being a lie is that the nation was was founded as a christian nation when as i pointed is incorrect and revisionist history.

Allan

that does not make it right.

it was wrong then, it is just as wrong now.

Allan

Enough already. The thread is not about US history or Christianity

In the latest news Khameini is said to have planned his escape to Moscow should the situation deteriorate further.

It is deteriorating further. Some rebels have now armed themselves and some security forces have defected to the rebels. IRGC offices in multiple cities have been destroyed, police stations are burning across Iran. Protests extend to every city in Iran, and parts of Tehran itself have been abandoned by the IRGC. Reports are the regular military is refusing orders.

Where are you getting this information?

That’s what I’m hearing too. Good times!

I was just going to ask this. I cannot find any reports stating this.

Prolly won’t gain traction in the shadow of Maduro. Give it another news cycle or two.

I hope this does lead to the fall of the Iranian regime but its on the people of Iran to do that.

I said months ago, Iran had their entire economy tied up in their nuclear program.

Now their currency has been massively devalued, inflation is 42%, and subsidies are drying up.

Let’s have popcorn in the meantime.

I was never one to watch very many videos depicting actual deaths outside of the ones we were forced to watch during pre-deployment, but I do admit, seeing Saddam’s neck bone bulging out the side like that gave me a happy. I’m a terrible person for that.

You always make me smile with your anecdotes.

I’ve already told you. scroll up

It looks like it will happen. The water crisis alone would be enough to bring it to its knees without all the other handicaps hitting Iran. As they would say the perfect storm has formed, unfortunately for them without precipitation

It appears today that in Tehran, protestors control most of the City. Certainly where security forces are massed they control, but they can’t be everywhere and ost of the city is controlled by protesters. Police continue to defect to the protesters in may area. So far reports are 35 people have been killed, which considering the protests are ongoing in every city in Iran seems rather mild resistance against the protesters. It seems to me the for a large umber of security forces their hearts just ain’t in putting down the rebellion.

History may be being made here. Russia’s foreign puppet/allies are falling one after another and Russia is powerless to do anything about it. Interesting times
