Massive protest in Iran

The current regime has no reservations about killing anyone they view as against the revolution (against their cleric rule). After all the whole purpose of the IRGC is to protect the regime and spread the revolution.

I think that a lot of older folks there remember how good they had it when the Shah was in power.

Do a google search on what Iran looked like before Jimmy Carter pulled US support for the Shah which allowed Ayatollah Khomeini to take over and turn Iran into the Islamist hell hole terrorist state it is today, it will look like a western civilized city. It’s sad what happened to the Iranian people and yes there has to be senior Iranian citizens who remember the way it was but I don’t think there is a chance of getting back.

I remember seeing the wife of the Shah on TV warning Americans we would regret pulling support and now we live under the threat of a nuclear Iran who will take out a US city first chance they get. And if voters keep voting for Democrat Presidents it will happen sooner than later.

Considering that all occurred almost fifty years ago, it is only we older people here who remember that. Of course the Shaw was not without sin, but he was our sinner, which was certainly better than what we got when he was gone.

Fo Sho. And it’s also an admission that their news sources suck.

Unfortunately this rarely happens in the Islamic world.

You don’t want them arrested by ICE and sent home?!

Yes, and so are a lot of other governments who are allied with the US.

Countries ranked by number of arrests for social media posts:
United Kingdom: 12,183
Belarus: 6,205
Germany: 3,500
China: 1,500
Turkey: 500
Russia: 400
Poland: 300
Thailand: 258
Brazil: 200
Syria: 146
India: 100
Iran: 100

If you’re suggesting that the UK is more oppressive than Iran, sell that krap somewhere else.

None of the above.

The protests seem to be spreading and turning into a rebellion. Key cities are now under control of the protesters and government goons have fled. This may be the time they actually throw off the yoke of Islamo-fascist oppression. A key catalyst has been the devaluation of their money leading to 40%+ inflation. For this we can thank President Trump for returning to the FP he had before Bidens’s policy of appeasement. The renewed sanctions have wrecked them.

Well that is a big development.

While I hope this happens saying key cities under control of protesters and government forces have fled seems a bit of an overstatement. Unless I am missing something I cannot find any credible reports of protesters taking control over key cities and government forces fleeing.

Where are you getting that key cities are under control of protestors? I haven’t seen that anywhere.

The data indicates that people are much more likely to get arrested for social media posts in the UK than in Iran.

That is only one measure of freedom. For example, Iran executes people for sodomy while the UK flies pride flags and supports pride parades. Clearly active homosexuals have much more freedom in the UK than in Iran.

Ironically the UK and the Iran have similar policies about state-supported sex-reassignment surgery. The difference is that the UK promotes surgery to support trans-rights, while Iran promotes it as a cure for homosexual behavior:

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Iran’s first supreme leader, issued a fatwa (legal opinion) 30 years ago permitting sex-reassignment surgery. Consequently, the Iranian regime permits and partially subsidizes such procedures. However, because Tehran criminalizes and harshly punishes same-sex intercourse and treats same-sex attraction as a disease, the regime’s transgender policy de facto results in the authorities and mental-health professionals and families pressuring gay and lesbian cisgender Iranians to undergo unwanted surgery in order to be able to enter into same-sex relationships without fear of arrest and punishment.

Trump: US will intervene if peaceful protesters are killed in Iran.

Did Trump just provide an incentive for a false-flag attack against Iranian protestors?

No but he is certainly threatening more of that Teddy Roosevelt doctrine.

thats the entire middle east. just stupid people letting religion dictate their government.

i am glad we aint them.

we have a secular constitution with no mention of any deity.

we also have religious freedom, which non existent in the middle east.

try bringing a bible into saudi arabia.

Social media is severely restricted in Iran. And people are afraid of the government to they don’t say what they feel.

Yep. The left’s beloved Islam does not believe in religious freedom.
