So lets recap so far. Trump attempted to obstruct justice. They lied and trolled mueller so he couldnt get evidence of their crimes. At one point some are too stupid to realize what they are doing is illegal.

There are tapes which could be the pee tapes. It looks like the russians do have dirt on trump via those tapesā€¦which cohen seemingly killed for nowā€¦

Manafort lied therefore mueller couldnt prove ( makes no sense if they know he lied) collusionā€¦or conspiracyā€¦

Trumps base looks at this as a win.but the evidence is there trump should be impeachedā€¦so they will troll on media outlets because they know mitch wont go for it.

Section 2 pg 23.

A bunch of old staffersā€¦ Hicks, Preibus, Spicer, Gatesā€¦ relating Trumpā€™s first reactions to the Intelligence Community releasing the info that the Russians worked to effect the election.

It goes from the IC made it up to concern that it would make his Presidency look illegitimate.

Not any new news but I thought it was interesting that it is in there.

Damn. They really are criminals, arenā€™t they?

Flynn opens a back channel to Kislyak about the sanctions that Obama placed on Russia for interfering with the election. Tells him basically to not worry. That Trump will take care of it when he gets into office.

It was Flynnā€™s contact with Kislyak that became a key component in the investigation.

Why did you highlight the first sentence and not the last?

I think the bigger question should be is why are ā€œindividuals tiedā€ to the Russian Government left out of that last assessment?

The bigger question to whom?

To anyone.

If one actually reads this thingā€¦ it shows that there were a whole bunch of proxies of the Russian Government making contact with the Trump campaign.

Kushner comes off as the smart one saying that they shouldnā€™t really be entertaining any of this.

It is also explained that Manafort doesnā€™t get charged with conspiring with the Russian Government because he was successful at stonewalling the investigation and the determination that Manafort was doing this for himself was kind of what they settled on.

I find the distinction between the official Russian Government and the Proxies to be interesting.

The report reads like they knew there was a lot of hinky stuff going onā€¦ but there just wasnā€™t enough proof to say without doubt that there was a conspiracy directly with the Russian government.

Soā€¦ it isnā€™t the best place for the adminstration to be in really.

Chris Christie relating a story of having lunch with the President after he fired Flynn

The President thought that firing Flynn would stop the ā€œRussia Thingā€ā€¦ his reasoning was that Flynn met with Russiansā€¦ Trump fired Flynnā€¦ it is taken care of.

Christie disabused him of this notion saying that Flynn would be ā€œlike gum on the bottom of your shoeā€

The President then asked Christie to call up Comey and tell him that the President likes him and he is part of the team.

Christie didnā€™t do this because he thought it was really a dumb thing to do.

This was hours before the private meeting in the oval office between Comey and Trumpā€¦ the ā€œFlynn is a good guyā€ meeting.

Section 2 pg 42-43.

Trump fires K.T. McFarland but asks that before she leaves to draft a letter that he had nothing to do with Flynn talking to Kislyak about sanctions during the transition.

McFarland didnā€™t do that.

Understatement of the day right there.
