The Fox News article saying it but the Fox News article also calls republicans authoritarians. Probably not a good thing to rely on
Did Lincoln campaign on declaring war on slaveholders?
Did Lincoln campaign on declaring war on slaveholders?
Not arguing this, letâs see what voters think, if we arenât at war.
âCivil warâ is not in The Atlantic article. You fell for the Fox spin.
Yes but authoritarians and republicans are the same thing⌠apparently?
Not all RepublicansâŚ
he could spend more time trying to direct Americansâ attention to the threat posed by the Trump-directed Republican Party, which is consolidating power at the state level and turning against democracy in large numbers.
My memory of history is that he campaigned for the legal abolishment of slavery, not a call to declare the slaveholders enemies.
As if we missed the reference to civil war and slaveholders amazing.
Isnât that what Lincoln did to garner support?
Cool, you found an idiot on the Left, now broad-brush everyone on the Left.
Thatâs how it works, right?
One could accurately argue that is a technique learned from and perfected by leftists.

Ah got it now, Atlantic was paywalled, still a really cruddy thing to write, that he should target Americans as enemies to prop up his sorry ass poll numbers.

Keep, going, what happened next, I am on the edge of my seat.
The South fired on Fort Sumter
The context of the article is that presidents need to define an enemy in order to garner support. If you read the article you will see she didnât say to literally declare war, it was used in a figurative sense. And not against Republicans, against authoritarians threatening democracy.
Step one: define Republicans as authoritarians threatening democracy.
Itâs like I always say, and progressive liberal marxists prove me right every time, is that they are always guilty of what they accuse others of, it never fails.
Every single time! They are clearly the authoritarians.
Get jabbed or lose your jobs for example. Fire your employees that donât get jabbed or face 750,000 fines.
There are many other examples of course.
They are pushing for socialism.
Of course the question is who is the authoritarian? Who is trying to rule by mandate? And who needs a manufactured enemy, a punching bag, to distract from record and try to change the narrative?
Sums them up nicely.

Factions within parties occur all the time. How are those who support Trump âauthoritarianâ?

Yes and? Thatâs the vast bulk of Republicans.
