Most Trump supporters saw their status (ie white privilege) ebbing. They were becoming politically impotent and their economic situation was also eroding. They thought Trump would change all that. 20 months later nothing has really changed for them so they’re lashing out more than ever. There’s really no reasoning with them at this stage.

And I expect that Mueller will have enough hard evidence that it will smack Trump supporters upside their collective heads.
