Disney streaming in the US continues to perform very well however I agree the glut of Star Wars and Marvel content is impacting quality.
But Andor was great and a nice shift to a more gritty Star Wars story. The first scene was in a brothel. I really liked the insight in the political and military workings of the Empire. This is one angle of Star Wars that is rich in potential quality story lines.

It would be great to see a story from the storm troopers perspective who truly see the rebels as terrorists. Flip the narrative.
Completely different show but they did something similar on Cobra Kai. In one episode they showed the events of the very first Karate Kid movie from Johnnys perspective. But a whole different slant on the story. Daniel was the ā ā ā ā ā ā !!!
Losing 4m+ in India makes sense when you know Disney lost rights to stream cricket and HBO in India.

Iām interested in these live sports deals. Disney lost cricket and subscribers left. Comcast spent a billion to get WWE Network into Peacock, Apple TV spent a ton to get mlb on Friday nights, Amazon spent to get Thursday nfl, and now Warner Discovery are possibly paying to get AEW events on MAX and lock up the company exclusively for broadcasts (probably on tv still delayed on max?) despite cutting elsewhere. Right now there arenāt a lot of good reasons to continually subscribe to the same service but if AEW ppv events were there semi regularly thatās a big one for me. And Warrior s3 hits in June.
But max is also going to start charging extra for 4K content like Netflix does.
Jan 6th next?
The Shield was my second favorite Michael Chiklis show, right behind No Ordinary Family.

The truth about Disney, what they actually stand for and promoteā¦is being exposed enough that many can now see it and it goes against what they personally believe and stand for. Vote your disdain or approval with how you choose to spend your dollars and time. In this instance, itās disdain.

I agree with you to a degree. My issue with Disney is they sell sex and pretend they dont. I am not talking about secret phallic symbols in movies but just about their general tween and teen programming.
Certain shows I was not to keen on my kids watching but didnt ban them instead we would when the opportunity arose talk to them.
Some shows were restricted not necessarily Disney shows but some content they had to wait until we were of the opinion they were mature enough for.
Parenting is hard work and most of the time we screw up our kids in some way but gotta keep trying.
Anyone who says their kids had a perfecr childhood or have grown into perfect adults are lying, delusional or both. My eldest who is nearly 30 stresses me out constantly and always a drama

Years ago, I was sent to Orlando to learn how it is that Disney brings out the best in their employees and then attempt to bring this methodology back and apply it. The course was for 3 days and when I came back, was asked about what I had learned. I told the sponsor that Disney was hiring gays from all over the country. They were dramatic, hard working and worked well in the Disney system. The problem was IMO that they werenāt paying their employees very well but what they were doing was having socialsā¦so that everyone couldā¦get together. This was the incentive that Disney was using. I found it both appalling and disgusting and would NEVER attempt to bring this methodology home.

Not sure if it was the same thing but years ago I went to Disney to attend their Customer Service college. It was a week titled ābump the lampā.
We got to go behind the scenes and into the tunnel complex below overall pretty cool.
No idea about the socials but why would you think having staff get togethers is not a good way to build a team? Not sure if I am missing something.
What they were promoting was promiscuity and this was a part of the pay their employees were receiving. It was sick and I was surprised the large company that sent me down there didnāt understand this.

Gotcha. Well sex between colleagues is going to happen and at a place like a Disney park where they are all young and from all over the world I am sure the Disney village where they live is a hotbed of hormones and bed hopping. However yeah as an employer I would not be promoting it or using it as a team spirit event LOL.

I actually just re-subscribed to Disney Plus yesterday. I had cancelled it when they got into their idiotic tiff with Roku over ad revenue, resulting in the ad supported version not even being available on Roku any longer. Now they have come to their senses and resolved that.
Iām enjoying catching up on Andor and Mandalorian.
I donāt really get politics and entertainment mixed up. I watch tv to get entertained - not to make political statements.

I am a sometimes HULU subscriber (Disney owned) and actually like several of the miniseries Disney-owned channels have produced.
(and yes they have a sprinkle of PC/woke themes, but at a sort of low level that looks more like a business decision āto includeā and āto be all cutting-edge and coolā rather than a propagandist decision to preach or indoctrinate.)
