July Jobs Report: + 73,000 (less than expected)

The guy who wants to reduce drug prices by 500… 600… 1,200% probably shouldn’t comment on statistics.

I missed it. Nothing else.

Where’s MAGA?

Ah I see. This thread is in the Economics forum. No wonder I missed it.

“The Automotive sector has cut 16,883 jobs through July 2025,
down 31% from the 24,434 cuts announced during the same period last year.”
SOURCE: July Challenger Report

That dumbass is trashing my 401k.

Mass deportations must be a lagging indicator, huh MAGA?

The old model worked like this:
1850-1900 Californians shipped their dirty laundry to China.
There it was washed and returned to the US. Crazy right?

The current model remains this:
The US exports iron ore (to China,Canada etc,)
There it is turned into steel and steel-intensive products and returned to the US

Similarly:
The US exports energy to Mexico, China, S Korea etc
There it is turned into energy intensive pridcts which are shipped to the US.

:backhand_index_pointing_up: That is all changing, or at least likely to change when and if President Trump stops changing the tariff rates every 2 weeks so companies can locate/expand wherever things can be made cheapest. :backhand_index_pointing_up:

S&P and Nas just hit like 3 record highs in a week.

What the ■■■■ are you investing in that is tanking?

Yesterday.

S&P ---- up 21% in a year.
NASDAQ QQQ ---- up 28% in a year

Talk to the hand.

Yesterday. Trump wasn’t in office a year ago.

Didn’t he fire the guy who generates these reports?

The gal.

Ah did not know that. That’s how I like my groups ran. You get information you don’t like, you get rid of them.

Yeah it’s not like Stalin. Just more like a GM executive in the 70s.
