Reading is fundamental “would serve in mostly administrative and transport roles to free up law enforcement and Border Patrol”.
I thought this would be welcomed by the right. Providing bandwidth to the Border Patrol to focus on the border and reassign other duties.
IMO it was a good idea when Trump did something similar and is a good idea now.
Though I would prefer to see more funding so that the Border Patrol can fill these admin/transport positions with additional staff.
What is your problem here?
I thought R’s wanted troops on the border. Heck, governors have already sent Guard troops, and that met with approval.
