Feinstein will never run again.
But let’s look at the Senators who took the opportunity, when given a truthful, early Covid briefing, to find ways to make an illegal profit in the stock market. Do they deserve our vote? And where is the SEC?

Stacey Abrams is on it. With no Trump on the ballot, will his minions turn out? IDK.
Will this be a vote by mail?
Did they make a profit? I must have missed the predicted market crash because I am still making money.
They were probed and the probes ended. Not sure a ruling was ever made but the senators took it as validation they were innocent.
The problem with proving the accusation, Covid wasn’t a secret at the time. Information about it was in the public realm if not paid a lot of attention to at the time.
The bigger issue of course is we were being told everything was all right while those stocks were being sold.
Optics.
You don’t get sent to jail for bad optics.

Yes but that doesn’t change that the battle is in Georgia now.
No, just how long any advantage won there would ultimately persist. Manchin is ripe for picking. His seats up in 2022 right? West Virginia is rabid Trump territory. Biden was all but laughed off the ballot there. And that isn’t going to get better if he makes moves in the climate change arena.
Manchin has already stated that he will not support court packing and will not support ending the filibuster or anything else “crazy” the progressives might want. He is sort of the Democrats version of Flake.

You do realize they dont really care about those stocks, right?

Congress people’s investments consistently outperform everyone else by 6%.

Didn’t say they should go to jail.

Did you call it insider trading?
Axxowiz:
I was just reading on 538 that runoffs generally have very low turn out, then again this is the year of record turnout so your never know.
Wouldn’t expect that to hold with the balance of power on the line.
With Trump gone it’s very likely a portion of the independent/moderate Republican anti-Trump vote will not turn out in this runoff.
Manchin has already stated that he will not support court packing and will not support ending the filibuster or anything else “crazy” the progressives might want. He is sort of the Democrats version of Flake.
Good point. Manchin has not been a consistent reliable Democrat vote. He is more of an independent. Considering that, one could say the Senate is currently 50.5 R & 49.5 D.
Did they make a profit?
Oh- does that matter? If you cheat but lose- does that mean you didn’t cheat?

I think that’s generally true but we should throw everything out the window for this one. It’s going to be crazy.

It’s the old joke of a cop explaining to a bank robber caught trying to rob an empty vault. It doesn’t matter if there was money in it. Or more current, losing money in a drug deal doesn’t mean you’ve done nothing wrong.

Denial, if Georgia two senate seats go to dems. Chunky will be calling the shots, while Mitch stews on the sideline.
Allan
Highly likely given the ages of some of them.
What happens if it is exactly 50% for both?
