According to libs that answer for most of the problems is one simple formula - TAX THE RICH AND BUSINESSES! If we do that along with growing government, we can see a world where all our dreams will come true! This is a core promise of the type of socialism pushed by today’s libs. But what if businesses and entrepreneurs don’t want to play along?
Analysts warn that removing this much refining capacity could add up to 15 cents per gallon for consumers — even before the shutdown occurs, because markets react early.
In worst-case supply crunches, gas prices could spike above $7 or even $8 per gallon, according to state projections. Californians already paying $1–$2 more than the U.S. average may soon see new record highs as supply tightens and seasonal demand increases.
There’s a lot more in this link but this is a little snip it of how the poor worthless pee-ons will be impacted. The shining light though in all this is at least the multimillionaire lib elites who run the state really won’t feel the impact of their policies!
Here’s another link regarding the utopia that lib politicians have created for middle-class Californians:
California has the highest state income tax rate in the country at 13.3 percent, along with a corporate tax rate of 8.84 percent. Combined with high sales taxes and gas prices, these costs reduce household income and discourage business growth. Many small business owners and retirees have chosen to move to more tax-friendly states.
In cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego, reports of property crime, theft, and sanitation issues have increased. Many families say they no longer feel safe in their neighborhoods. These concerns are pushing people to move to cities with lower crime rates and better public services.
We the people are dealing with Brandonites. They couldn’t even discern they were voting for a mentally, incompetent person. That’s how far gone they are. What’s cool though is…they’re out numbered by non-sheoplized Americans.
What’s a real shame is that one of, if not our most beautiful state, is now a target rich environment of problems that were created by the leftist government. You don’t have to go any further than illegal immigration and the "V"irtuous sanctuary city/state mentality that now is being overrun with problems as a DIRECT result of this decision to disregard our Constitution and our laws.
It gives us an example of Democrat policies and leadership on a smaller scale sample. But I get now for libs like yourself, you will NEVER hold them accountable for any negative impacts of their policies and leadership. In the minds of forum libs they can do no wrong. Here’s more of what a Democrat America looks like:
Zohran Mamdani has put forth many bold—and expensive—proposals in his New York City mayoral bid, including childcare for all, government-run grocery stores, and free buses. He’s planning to pay for these proposals with various tax hikes, including a large jump in the city’s corporate tax rate from 7.5 percent to 11.5 percent. He claims this will bring in $5 billion, and says New York City’s economy can “afford to support a stronger public sector.”
Unfortunately, raising the corporate tax rate could also hinder the job market, cause corporations to relocate, and decrease long-term government revenue, potentially damaging New York’s status as the financial capital of the world.
Corporations hit with higher tax rates would seek ways to cut costs, possibly harming workers through either layoffs or lower wages.
Businesses and people will undoubtedly flee NY city similar to people fleeing the California mess.
Wonder if they will have a crazy politician like in California who upon learning so many were leaving declared “Well lets pass a law prohibiting them from leaving”.
I don’t personally know how all the local politics works but I was listening to people talking about this on the radio and they were debating how much of his agenda that he can actually get through the legislature (I believe that is how they put it). In other words, it doesn’t seem like he can simply do this by fiat on day 1.
I don’t believe anyone will deny that places like NYC don’t have their share of problems, like the cost of living, etc. The fallacy, as you well know, is that all we need to do is to “tax the rich.”
It’s important that we look at the example that’s been set by and the going’s on in the state of California.
It’s one of the most important states in our union….
The former vice president and Democrat presidential candidate was from California. It’s very possible, maybe probable that the next Democrat presidential nominee will be the current governor of California…
He’s a smooth talking good looking guy whose policy ideas have been terrible.
It’s possible to escape the bad ideas of a state…but I’m not sure how you escape those bad ideas when they infest the entire country.
