If Middle East oil production is disrupted, you’ll see the US is not as energy independent as you like to believe it is.
If you remember the old forum, I took heat over it but stood my ground…“we” shouldn’t be and never should have been there…period.
You were by far in the minority of conservatives then.
If Middle East oil production is disrupted, you’ll see the US is not as energy independent as you like to believe it is.
Yeah I don’t know where this mindset comes from.
The US could run on 100% green energy and produce half the worlds oil, it’s economy would still tank if the global oil supply was disrupted.
SixFoot:
No. Give Iraq the ultimatum of making it worth our time first. They will buckle, like Arab nations do.
So just shake them down for money.
Now you’re thinking like a winner!
Now you’re thinking like a winner!
I’m beginning to see some flaws in your foreign policy plans, President SixFoot.
I never made the policies, I just carried them out.

We saw it after the drone strike on the Saudi oil fields.
We’ll see it even more when it becomes more apparent to more people that Ghawar production peaked years ago and the Saudis have to go almost all out just to stay in place production-wise.
WuWei:
So perpetual war. I like it!
You’ve been at perpetual war for a while now.
Again, is ignoring them really the better option? Not a good option, the better one.
“You”?
SixFoot:
WuWei:
Who cares?
Not me.
Drill baby, drill!
If Middle East oil production is disrupted, you’ll see the US is not as energy independent as you like to believe it is.
You think ME oil is important to the US?
ISIS never surrendered and was never defeated. It was losing, badly. Now it’s not.
Your turn. CHARGE!

You think ME oil is important to the US?
It is since oil is a global commodity.
It is since oil is a global commodity.
Can you explain that please?
JayJay:
It is since oil is a global commodity.
Can you explain that please?
It’s sold globally.
That means supply disruptions anywhere in the world impact prices and availability everywhere.
Is this like banning guns? Sounds like banning guns…
I’m gonna go with it’s like banning guns.
Good luck.
Amazing that needed to be explained

Does it? Ok. Never mind.
Is the same not true of everything?

Many things but probably few of them are as important as oil.
Pretty much, it’s not like IS isn’t just another jihadist group that pops its ugly head up every year, now that they have lost their territory the Iraqi military should be able to squash any ISIS uprising. If not why should we bother.
