Lets assume that these so called stimulus checks really significantly stimulated anything. Wouldn’t it be better to give the part that went to foreign nationals who are in the country illegally to poor Americans, so that poor Americans could benefit while the economy was being stimulated? The same money would be “stimulating” our economy, but it would be going to Americans instead of foreign nationals.
Sure… but we’re already giving stimulus to poor Americans and we’re not intentionally sending stimulus payments to illegal immigrants. The only reason illegals are getting stimulus payments is because there are holes in whatever process we use to detect invalid or stolen SSNs.
So why are Nancy and Schumer not stepping up and inviting the surge into their district?

In NJ it costs over $30,000/per child just for their education. Overall cost per illegal immigrant child is probably around $50,000 on average when you include healthcare, housing, etc. That’s the “hidden” tax on the middleclass that Dems don’t talk about.

I ask this to clarify if you think stimulus payments work in general or not. If you don’t, then obviously the answer would be “no”. Sometimes its helpful to make sure we’re on the same page with the basics before diving into the details. A reasonable person would just answer the question with a “yes”, “no”, or even “it depends”. But instead you accuse me of deflection and ignore the question all together.
Frankly it seems you are the one generalizing here when I’m trying to get into specifics. How can we answer your “specific question” without first addressing if illegal immigrants spending stimulus money helps the economy. You’ve decided you have the correct answer and ignore any attempts from me break down the pros and cons of the situation. This is a discussions forum, not a lecture forum.

And that’s just an assumption on your part. They’d be trying to come here regardless of stimulus payments, especially since most of them won’t get any.
This has so many holes in it. For starters we are a capitalist society… we WANT to sell our goods and services… Merchants generally don’t care the citizenship status of their customers because they get paid either way.
The other issue with this statement is that there are plenty of citizens who have not helped produce “inventory” and when I ask if them spending stimulus money stimulates the economy you again accuse me of deflection.
