Is anyone following the Texas senate race?

I am. The DNC just elected their candidate, James Talarico. He says he’s a Christian, but he uses scripture to justify his narrative. For example, he said that the fact that Mary consented to Gabriel when he asked her to bear Jesus means that abortion is biblically justified. He also said that there were six biological genders and that God is non-binary. He’s 36 but some how running for a seat in a carnal of the legislature that requires a candidate to be 45+.

ETA: 30 yo is the minimum to run for Senate.

Here’s what a pastor has to say about him:

Nothing new about politicians using the bible to justify their views.

Its irrelevant as he will not win.

The internet says you only have to be 30 for the senate, 25 for house.

Silly facts.

Not only the internet, but the constitution as well.

there are plenty of juicy quotes that I am sure will wind up in ads without that, though. Should be fun.

God as non-binary makes sense. I mean, the Christian god.

Obviously not Zues.

Politicians who quote the Bible to justify policies are universally gross. We are not a theocracy; we are not Iran. We are a secular republic.

I was wrong.

It won’t be that close of a race.

Libs are getting their hopes up just like they did for Beto.

This pretty much sums up my approach to the TX race.

It’s a shame (and dumb) that the two GOPs are going to waste a fortune in campaign collateral against each other.

Indeed. Talarico is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Why did you link to a guy saying things Talarico has supposedly said instead of linking to Talarico himself?
