As a result of the reimposed sanctions on Iran companies all across the EU are now pulling billions in new investments in Iran. From a natural gas project, to Banking, to Communications investments are being pulled which will soon start putting great pressure on the regime to come back to the negotiating table.
I hope this leads to a piece of paper being signed…
I hope this leads to a regime change that is much less radical and hostile…
Now THIS was a funny joke.
Oh…wait…you were serious?
We missed a great chance by failing to support the “green revolution”. Iran is a country more than ready to be free but as long as the bad guys have all the guns there’s very little chance anything will change.
I’ve known a good many Iranians over the years and they were all great people, I hope and pray that one day those still living there will get their chance.
Where have we heard that before… What kind of “support” would you have provided? Be specific
What did Iran do?
Trump’s current track record in dealing with dictators makes it highly unlikely Iran will throw off the mullahs any time soon.
In fact, their position will likely be strengthened.
But there’s still time…
You mean the same Iran is buying oil from and Russia is going to help?
I wonder if Russia will ever feel the pressure.
Don’t forget China.
I meant I Iran who is selling oil to China and the Russians are helping.
Who knew geopolitics could be so difficult?
Isn’t there a chance that Trump will get a worse deal than the previous administration? Obama’s deal took years of effort as well as cooperation from Russia and China.
Can Trump’s understaffed administration put in that kind of work? Can his leadership abilities pass a test like this?
Aren’t we negotiating from a weaker position than before, since we don’t have our geopolitical adversaries in check, or the same support from our allies?
Wildrose won’t respond for a while, I noticed he usually shows up at night most of the time.
I’ve been over it many times. Personally I’d have dropped a few million small arms and adequate ammunition to allow them to fight for it themselves, maybe provide cover for a “no fly zone” as well while they worked it out.
In what way exactly are we now negotiating from a weaker position?
