I have no interest is shunting Israeli policy away from policy consequences, but the people who ran Israel before Likud’s neoliberal, tzadik-settler and personality cult turn, under Netanyahu, never operated from these kind of delusions. Had Egypt remained the abiding threat to Israel’s existence, Tel Aviv would have backed Tehran as a regional counter. Bank it.

You seem to have a decent grasp and are using your understanding to form an opinion. You are certainly entitled to that opinion, but it is just your opinion. From where I sit it is pretty much in line with LIB thought. My disagreement with your opinion doesn’t mean that I’m automatically wrong. It just means we disagree.
