Interest on the debt now exceeds 1 trillion dollars!

By that logic I didn’t either since my candidate wasn’t on the ballot. But the point I’m making in this thread is basically this:

For anyone concerned about the national debt, Trump is not the answer.

Haley would have pushed us into more unwinnable conflicts. Thinking that america is going to be able to compete with a country that produces and consumes 15x more steel is ridiculous. The way haley talked about china was pure fantasy.

Obamacare. Remember Pelosi you have to pass it to see it.

Sure, you love having hard working Americans pay for some loser’s college party debt. No wonder the ordinary working man is running toward the GOP.

Id much rather pay for an American’s college thn an Israelis healthcare or college.

Sure it does. Are you not tired of the same old game being played over and over again. The democrats won’t give up anything. They shut down the government knowing the GOP will get blamed. Rinse and repeat every few months.

Your problem is she would be sending billions overseas to support the wars she loves. Making her war monger friends happy. Geroge Bush on steroids.

I would much rather pay for neither. And use the money to help the men and woman that scarified to protect the country.
But you do you and support all those loser college grads while those that protected you live on the streets.

I am tired of it, but I don’t think eliminating the debt ceiling will fix the problem. Removing obstacles to overspending isn’t the way to prevent overspending.

Based on Haley’s public comments, we can’t assume that she would have started new wars. She would continue to fund Ukraine, or at least push Congress to do so, but Trump might do the same.

I work just like everyone else, pay my taxes and do not begrudge one penny going to pay off someone’s student loans. I am happy for them.

So, how do we stop Congress from digging? Seems to me adopting the Fair Share Balanced Budget Amendment, or similar type legislation, would encourage each States Congressional Delegation, while in Washington, to stop the digging.

I 100% agree no need for a bailout anyway, just allow college debt to be discharged in bankruptcy.

We are in a situation where majority of those under 34 think the ceo shooter was justified. It is going to get wild if there is an economic downturn.

Uh, huh…and the man made COVID from Fauci, who is yet to be prosecuted…had little to nothing to do with all of that…amirite?

I love irony. :sunglasses: :tumbler_glass:

The debt ceiling is not a real issue. Every time spending goes beyond the debt ceiling, it is raised.

Pay off strangers’ student loans and be happy for them?

Well there is no simple answer if that is what you mean.
We could pass a balanced budget amendment and then what?
Cut social security?
Cut medicare?

We could increase taxes 226% percent. That would do it.
(Right now current expenses = 2.26 times tax receipts)

But that would do it only for now, because the way mandatory spending is strucured we’d ahve to keep raisng taxes aboe and beyond that in the future.

I didn’t vote for Trump.

You voted for Haley.

Haley didn’t win.

You lost.
