As we are having this debt ceiling and government shutdown debate it’s definitely relevant to consider this and to put it into perspective:
To continue piling on debt also means to continue to pile on interest payments on that debt! How long is that sustainable?
It’s absolutely sickening and yet, our government continues to waste our tax dollars and enrich themselves. The corruption is blatant. The timing of “we the people” standing up against this establishment that’s created this mess…in the 2024 election…was truly our “last chance saloon”. Now as Trump comes into office, this is a main target he’s focused on.
Having Elon and Vivek leading this cost cutting charge appears to be an answered prayer. They just cut the last bill from over 1500 pages down to 116. Now consider that this 1500 page bill gave those who’d vote on it very little time to read it and comprehend what’s in it. I’m understanding that one of the expenditures cut in the shorter version was to continue funding these many labs in the Ukraine. It was hidden amongst all the other wasteful garbage.
It appears that Trump coming into office, is our nation’s opportunity to get off this current road of financial destruction that our corrupt politicians have had us on for decades…and back on the road that’s primary function is to serve “we the people”.

They seem determined to squander as much money as possible on the way out.
These jerks are certainly not what the Founders had in mind to serve in government.
Their idea was to volunteer for a few years and then go back to their farms or businesses.
Not go to DC and enrich themselves and their cronies.
Is this why Trump wants to eliminate the debt ceiling?

Why does Trump want to eliminate the debt ceiling if not to run up more debt? That terrible CBS article has a section titled “Why does Trump want to raise the debt ceiling?”, but it doesn’t actually explain why, it just quotes him.
“Number one, the debt ceiling should be thrown out entirely,” Trump said in a phone interview Thursday with CBS News’ Robert Costa.
Trump separately told ABC News that “there won’t be anything approved unless the debt ceiling is done with,” indicating any spending deal to prevent a shutdown must address the debt limit. “If we don’t get it, then we’re going to have a shutdown, but it’ll be a Biden shutdown, because shutdowns only [injure] the person who’s president,” he told ABC News.
The debt is being run up right now…by congress and without his administration. He doesn’t want to have congress give away the farm today and then force him to recognize the give away in his administration. Then The people who give it away will say: look what Trump did.
That makes sense, but how does eliminating the debt ceiling protect the Trump administration from those accusations?
That is exactly the game these people are playing.
How much did they each add to spending?
See how easy it is to get them to clap like seals?

I’m uninformed but if @ 1400 pages were eliminated, I garner…so was waste and THAT is what concerns me the most.
Now look at your conclusion that once again is wrong. 
Isn’t DC just full of wonderful leaders. They had to work real hard to get us that far in debt.
And made lots of money along the way. But hey lets bash Trump! The newcomer they hate, indict and lie about… Gosh, I wonder why?

They are just crying because the GOP didn’t consult or run the second plan through the dems first before bringing it to the floor. Jeffries threw his rattle out of the pram and cried how that was unfair.
