Sunday at Daytona - VP Racing SportsCar Challenge holds Race 2 of their weekend…

.
…and the results were very close to the first race, as Dan Goldburg once again WON in P3 class and overall, though this time from pole, in the # 73 Duqueine D08 for JDC Motorsport. P2 went again to Brian Thienes in the # 77 Ligier for US RaceTronics, again from his P5 start. P3 again went to a Road to Indy alum but instead of Bijoy Garg it was USF2000 alum Courtney Crone in the # 99 Duqueine D08 for Forty7 Motorsports from her P3 start.

Bijoy Garg, starting 2nd, chased Goldburg for most of the race but finally spun while attempting a pass in the chicane. That left Goldburg with a lot of room to complete the weekend sweep. Garg ended the day in P5 in the # 3 Jr III Racing Ligier JS P320. Still, a P3 and a P5 in his Sportscar debut is not too shabby for the USF Pro 2000 driver.

It’s time for the 2023 Rolex 24 at Daytona!

.
The biggest and most prestigious endurance race in North America is coming off this weekend as IMSA will host the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with the first race of the season and the first of their four Michelin Endurance Cup rounds. .
.
Rolex24atDaytona275

.
.
The venue is the great Daytona International Speedway, in Southern Florida. The race will use almost all of the oval - including the bus stop chicane - and all of the infield road course to present a huge tableau for 61 cars from five different classes all racing at the same time for 24 hours.

.
DaytonaAtNight580W

.
Also racing on the Speedway over the weekend will be the Michelin Pilot Challenge series and IMSA MX-5 Cup. We will cover all but MX-5 Cup, as there are no IndyCar drivers in it.

.
This, the 61st iteration of the Rolax 24 at Dayton, will have 61 total entries in the five classes, including LMP2 class, LMP3 class, GTD Pro class, GTD class and the new IMSA GTP class, consisting this weekend of 9 international LMDh class cars (Hybrids) racing anywhere for the first time.

.
61 cars at the start - who will survive 24 hours?
Daytona23

.
.
.
As in most endurance races, the regular squads for the cars are supplemented with “adds” - added driver to flesh out the driver duties over 24 hours of non-stop racing. This is where a huge number of IndyCar drivers come to race in their off-season. We have reported on all the IndyCar drivers - some current and some former, from both IndyCar and the Road to Indy - in the previous posts dedicated to the Roar Before the Rolex 24 - IMSA’s great test weekend in prep for this event. Those names and their cars are all listed in post # 1937 above.

Since the Roar we can add one more, or rather add another job: 17-year-old Indy NXT driver Nolan Siegel was already listed as one of the drivers in the # 39 CarBahn with Peregrine Racing prepared Porsche 718 GT4 in the Michelin Pilot Challenge series but he will now pull double duty and also join the # 33 Sean Creech Motorsports LMP3 entry in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, teaming with Lance Willsey, Joao Barbosa and Nico Pino. Nolan will be replacing Danny Soufi. The car will be starting from pole, thanks to Pino’s efforts in qualifying. Siegel is a former GT-class SportsCar race WINNER and was also in the Muhlner Motorsports LMP3 Rolex 24 entry in 2022.

Sunday at Daytona - the 61st annual Rolex 24 at Daytona is over!..

.
…and in one way it was particularly similar to the 2022 event, as Meyer Shank Racing took the WIN in the top class and overall, with closer Tom Blomqvist, and IndyCar drivers Simon Pagenaud and Helio Castroneves in the team’s # 60 Acura. The only differences are the fourth driver - Colin Braun instead of Oliver Jarvis - and of course, the car itself. This is the first race and the first WIN for the new GTP class Acura ARX-06 LMDh car. It is also Castroneves’ 3rd Rolex 24 WIN in a row. Coming in P2 - also the same as last year - was the # 10 Konica Minolta Acura for Wayne Taylor Racing, this year driven by closer Filipe Albuquerque, Ricky Taylor (both the same) and Louis Deletraz and Brendan Hartley. The cars were separated by a relatively safe 4+ seconds at the line. Third place was again taken by a Cadillac, but this year it was the # 01 Caddy for Corvette Racing instead of the JDC MIller car. In the new Cadillac V-LMDh were IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Sebastien Bourdais and closer Renger van der Zande. The 4th place # 02 Caddy for Cadillac Racing was the only other GTP on the lead lap at the end, as the Whelen Caddy, both Porsches and both BMWs suffered mechanicals that eventually put them out of contention, with the # 6 Porsche being the only GTP of the 9 starters unable to finish.

The LMP2 class was the real heart-stopper of the day, as the # 55 Proton Competition ORECA 07 Gibson, driven by James Allen at the time, passed the # 04 CrowdStrike Racing by APR ORECA driven by IndyCar driver Ben Hanley at the finish line and WON by a mere 0.016 seconds in a photo finish. Allen’s co-drivers were Fred Poordad, Giammaria Bruni and Francesco Pizzi while Ben shared the # 04 with George Kurtz, Matt McMurry and former IndyCar driver Esteban Gutierez. Coming in P3 was the # 88 ORECA for AF Corse driven by Francois Perrodo, Matthieu Vaxiviere, Julien Canal and Nicklas Nielsen some 5+ seconds back.

.
.
The LMP3 class was easily the surest thing at the end, with the # 17 AWA Duqueine D08 Nissan of Anthony Mantella, Wayne Boyd, Nico Varrone and Thomas Merrill finishing 1st as the lone class entrant to not face any issues during the 24 hours and ending the race 12 laps clear of its nearest competition. Gear box issues for the # 33 Sean Creech Motorsport Ligier JS P320 Nissan, which had enjoyed a 2-lap controlling class lead until five hours to go, set the pole-sitting car to finish P2 with Joao Barbosa, Lance Willsey, Nico Pino and last-minute addition and Indy NXT driver Nolan Siegel. Performance Tech Motorsports’ John DeAngelis, Christopher Allen, Connor Bloum and Road to Indy alum Cameron Shields completed the class podium, 16 laps down.

GTD Pro class was WON by closer Maro Engel and co-drivers Cooper MacNeil, Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon in the # 79 Mercedes-AMG GT3 for WeatherTech Racing, after an intense hour-long battle between that car and the # 3 Corvette C8.R GTD for Corvette Racing driven by Jordan Taylor, Antonio Garcia and Tommy Milner (P2 at the end) and the # 14 Lexus RCF GT3 for Vasser Sullivan, driven by IndyCar driver Jack Hawksworth with co-drivers Ben Barnicoat and IndyCar driver Mike Conway. In that last hour all three cars held the lead, at one point or another. Engel beat Garcia to the line by almost 4 seconds at the end, with Hawksworth crossing 7 seconds after that. Making the battling even more intense were all the GTD class cars that were mixed up with the GTD Pros, as there is no mechanical difference or advantage to the GTD Pro class cars. This is Cooper MacNeil’s first Rolex WIN in what he claims is his last professional SportsCar race, as he retires to help run WeatherTech Floorliners.

In GTD class the WINNER was the # 27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3, which crossed the line FIRST of all GT cars in the race, driven by closer Marco Sorensen and co-drivers Ian James, Darren Turner and Roman De Angelis. Sorensen fought hard to keep several GTD Pro cars between him and the # 44 Magnus Racing Aston Martin driven by Andy Lally, John Potter, Spencer Pumpelly and Nicki Thiim and it worked, crossing the line some 5+ seconds ahead of the Magnus Aston Martin. P3 went to the # 70 Inception Racing McLaren 720S GT3 of Brendan Iribe, Frederik Schandorff, Ollie Millroy and Marvin Kirchhöfer, some 11 seconds back.

Posting P4 in GTD class was the # 66 Gradient Racing Acura NSX GT3 of Sheena Monk, Mario Farnbacher, Marc Miller and IndyCar driver Katherine Legge. Katherine has been in the wilderness for a few years in substandard equipment, so it’s great to see her back in a competitive car with a full season ride.

That’s it for another fantastic Rolex 24 at Daytona. This race never fails to be great as one can tune in at any time in the 24 hours and see great racing going on. With the new GTP class the excitement level was ramped up even more than usual and the class performed better than expected, with several of the new cars exceeding expectations for performance and durability.

A HUGE congrats to Mike Shank and his IndyCar drivers Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud for another WIN. Congrats also for the podiums for IndyCar guys Sebastien Bourdais and Scott Dixon, Ben Hanley and Esteban Gutierez, Nolan Siegel and Cameron Shields, Jack Hawksworth and Mike Conway.

Two new drivers were added to the Road to Indy rolls, this week…

.
…and both of them will be driving for VRD Racing, but in different series. Soon-to-be16-year-old Jimmie Lockhart will drive for VRD Racing in USF Juniors, completing their 4-car line-up for 2023 with fellow rookies Max Taylor and Zack Ping and sophomore Ethan Barker.

.
Jimmie Lockhart
JimmieLockhart300-1

.

Holding dual UK / USA citizenship, Jimmie is a championship karter and is now a graduate of VRD’s own Academy program since 2022.

Said he, “Due to unfortunate circumstances, I was not able to make my series debut and jump to the national level in 2022. Persistence has paid off and we have been working hard to put a program in place. Excited to be confirmed as an official driver for VRD Racing and ready to get to work both on and off the track.”

.
.
.
Also joining the VRD freight train, but in USF2000 will be 22-year-old Chicagoan Gordon Scully. Gordon is a graduate of the Lucas Oil School of Racing and the Formula Race Promotions F1600 series, driving in 2022 for Rice Race Prep, which also ran 2022 series Champion Thomas Schrage. Scully was 7th in the standings out of 20.

.
Gordon Scully in action
GordonScully300-1

.
Gordon started his racing career later than most but hopes his maturity will be an advantage:

“I may not have as much on-track experience or be as young as some of the other drivers, but I am still only 22 and feel like I can use that to my advantage. You learn some things in life when you get a little older and the difference between a 17-year-old and me on a maturity level can be quite big.”

Owing to his fine showing in his rookie season in FRP 1600, he may have a point.

It’s time for the IndyCars to do their Spring Training!

.
This season, all of the series regulars with the exception of one, are at The Thermal Club country club in Southern California for Spring Training on the beautiful private race track located there. Not at the track is Takuma Sato for Chip Ganassi Racing, as all he will be doing this season are the ovals, and the Thermal Club configuration being used is a 17-turn 2.9-mile twisty road course. The course is run in a counter-clockwise direction.

25 - Santino Ferrucci, AJ Foyt Enterprises
26 - Helio Castroneves, Meyer Shank Racing
27 - Benjamin Pedersen [R], AJ Foyt Enterprises

.
.
.
Notable:

  • Good start for Andretti Autosport, with 3 of their 4 drivers in the TOP SEVEN. This is the kind of showing that Kyle Kirkwood needs to remind everyone how good he was in Indy Lights and before his year with AJ Foyt.

  • At this point, we don’t know what any driver or any team is trying to accomplish - outright speed or working on other issues - so it is impossible to say what the rankings mean, but it is also fair to say the fast guys are the fast guys. They just might not be the ONLY fast guys.

  • Simon Pagenaud is coming off his 2nd WIN in a row at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, driving the # 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06 with co-drivers Tom Blomqvist, Colin Braun and fellow IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves, who is coming off his 3rd Rolex 24 WIN in a row! (One for Wayne Taylor Racing and two for MSR).

  • The guy with the most laps was David Malukas with 28 while the guy with the least laps was Pato O’Ward with but 6.

  • There were no untoward moments for anyone, this morning, beyond some harmless spins.

It’s time for the IndyCars to do their Spring Training!..(part 2)…

.
The Thursday afternoon test session of IndyCar Spring Training at the Thermal Club in Southern California has just completed, and once again Andretti Autosport’s Colton Herta was top o’ the charts with the best time of the day.

.
Here is the order of speed for the T-2 session of IndyCar Spring Training, with times for the TOP FIVE: [R] denotes rookie

.
1 - Colton Herta, Andretti Autosport - time of 1:39.3721s for a speed of 111.110mph

11 - Rinus VeeKay, Ed Carpenter Racing
12 - Marcus Ericsson, Chip Ganassi Racing
13 - Devlin DeFrancesco, Andretti Steinbrenner
14 - David Malukas, Dale Coyne Racing w/ HMD Motorsports
15 - Pato O’Ward, Arrow McLaren
16 - Alexander Rossi, Arrow McLaren
17 - Josef Newgarden, Team Penske
18 - Jack Harvey, Rahal Letterman Lanigan
19 - Felix Rosenqvist, Arrow McLaren
20 - Agustin Canapino [R], Juncos Hollinger Racing

21 - Graham Rahal, Rahal Letterman Lanigan
22 - Conor Daly, Ed Carpenter Racing
23 - Santino Ferrucci, AJ Foyt Enterprises
24 - Helio Castroneves, Meyer Shank Racing
25 - Sting Ray Robb [R], Dale Coyne Racing w/ Rick Ware Racing
26 - Benjamin Pedersen [R], AJ Foyt Enterprises
27 - Kyle Kirkwood, Andretti Autosport

.
.
.
Notable:

  • In the first session, Colton was the only guy to crack the 1:39s in time but in the second session 13 guys made that grade. Herta has made the statement that he didn’t think a top time here actually translates into any kind of dominance but it’s great to be on top, nevertheless.

  • The TOP 18 were covered by one second.

  • Kyle Kirkwood did not go on track in T-2 except for one slow lap. We can only surmise his Honda was having or did have an engine failure or engine change.

  • There were a number of spins and off-track excursions, bringing out a number of red flags over the two sessions, but no one hit anything or anyone.

  • The last half hour of the T-2 session was devoted to pit stop practices

  • David Malukas put in the most laps for the day at 55, while Alexander Rossi put in the fewest at 26, and barring Kyle Kirkwood who only ran in one session (20 laps, that)

…in Southern California. Again, the weather is perfect, with temps in the 70s, despite being located near Palm Springs - California’s desert region. Temps in the Summer here can approach 125 to 130 degrees, but the Winter is simply balmy.

All 27 series regular cars for 2023 are out on track for Test 3.

18 - David Malukas, Dale Coyne Racing w/ HMD Motorsports
19 - Devlin DeFrancesco, Andretti Steinbrenner

24 - Graham Rahal, Rahal Letterman Lanigan
25 - Conor Daly, Ed Carpenter Racing
26 - Benjamin Pedersen [R], AJ Foyt Enterprises
27 - Sting Ray Robb [R], Dale Coyne Racing w/ Rick Ware Racing
.
.
.
Notable:

  • Marcus Ericsson and Santino Ferrucci put in the fewest laps in the session, at 16, but 16 was all Marcus needed to put in the fastest lap of the testing, so far.

  • Team Penske has two drivers in the TOP FIVE and all three drivers in the TOP TEN, while Chip Ganassi Racing claims the TOP and also has three guys in the TOP TEN.

  • Things are getting maximized, with the TOP EIGHT all dipping into the 1:38s on time. The TOP 18 are all covered by 1 second.

  • Kudos to Christian Lundgaard for Rahal Letterman Lanigan. He once again makes the TOP TWO. Same with Kyle Kirkwood, who has a P2 and a P3 for the two tests he ran in. His teammate Colton Herta is obviously working on other things besides top speed, at this point, having proved twice to be speedy, indeed.

  • Rinus Veekay and Alexander Rossi both put in 38 laps this morning - the most of anyone - but Sting Ray Robb still has the most laps of anyone for the week, with 95, including this morning’s 32. He and Agustin Canapino have the least time of anyone here in an IndyCar, so he needs the laps. At least Sting Ray has Indy Lights time while these are among Agustin’s first open-wheel laps at speed.

  • Again, it is hard to say what each driver or each team is trying to accomplish, out there. Outright speed may be the last thing they are worried about, so while the fast guys are clearly fast guys, they may not be the ONLY fast guys.

Friday - It’s Day 2 of IndyCar Spring Training at the Thermal Club…(part 2)…

.
Following the lunch break, the IndyCar came out for the 4th and final test at speed, to be followed by another half an hour of pit stop practice for any driver or team that wanted it. Some of these drivers have never had to do a pit stop in their careers, depending on what series they have been in, and the opening round at St. Pete is looming larger in the windscreen.

Once again, Andretti Autosport topped the charts, but this time it was young sophomore Kyle Kirkwood hauling in the fastest time of the session.

.
Here is the order of speed for Test 4 for the IndyCars Spring Training, with times for the TOP FIVE: [R] denotes rookie

26 - Conor Daly, Ed Carpenter Racing
27 - Santino Ferrucci, AJ Foyt Enterprises

.
.
.
Notable:

  • This is Kirkwood’s 3rd appearance in the TOP THREE of the three sessions he participated in. Clearly, Kyle is very comfortable in the Andretti Honda in a way he never was in the AJ Foyt Chevrolet. He got his TOP time in ten laps or less and pulled in. The TOP THREE and Christian Lundgaard are the future of IndyCar personified. It turns out that Callum Ilott and Marcus Armstrong were once roommates. Marcus has also been the best performing rookie, with now three TOP TENS and a worst showing of P16.

  • The older guys aren’t yet ready to lie down, however, led by 2022 Champ Will Power who posted P6, P5, P4 and P5 over the last two days.

  • Two Andretti guys, two Penske guys and three Ganassi guys in the TOP TEN. How great is it for Juncos Hollinger to be topping/matching that sort of company?

  • Marcus Ericsson’s T-3 time is TOPS for the whole test.

  • The most laps over the four sessions were posted by Sting Ray Robb and David Malukas with 122 laps apiece. The least laps were from Kyle Kirkwood who missed a session and posted 67 laps total, but of the guys with four session the least were posted by Santino Ferrucci who only drove 70 laps. We’re betting that was not at all by choice, but likely due to problems with his car. Santino has already hinted that the Foyt team is still trying to find its way after the long Winter lay-off.

Two new drivers come to USF Pro 2000 for 2023…

.
…and they are both highly accomplished!. While we were watching the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the IndyCar Spring Training these two chaps were announced for the new season of USF Pro 2000 and we wanted to introduce them, now:

.
First, Exclusive Autosport has nabbed the services of Sweden’s Joel Granfors for their squad, joining sophomores Lindsay Brewer and Yuven Sundaramoorthy. Joel started out in European karting but by 2020 was transitioning to formula cars and doing it very well, becoming the 2020 Formula Nordic Champion, with 8 WINS and 9 podiums in 12 races. He was also in SportsCars as the Aquila Synergy Cup Champion the same year, with 9 WINS in 12 races. By 2022 Joel was in both Aquila Formula 1000 Sweden and in the British GB3 Championship grabbing Vice-Championships in both.

Said the 17-year-old, “This is a thrilling step in my career, and literally a new challenge in so many ways. It’s a new continent, all new tracks, a new car, and a new team but I’ve massively enjoyed all I’ve seen of it so far. The team has really made me feel at home and I couldn’t be prouder to be in the # 92 Exclusive Autosport Corpay branded car. It’s all about picking your opportunities in this sport and, for me, I feel the package is right to make this move and try to chase the American dream.”

In the same week TJ Speed announced that they will be running Albanian Lirim Zendeli next to fellow rookies Christian Weir and Francesco Pizzi on their new USF Pro 2000 squad. The 23-year-old Germany native started in formula cars in 2016, after countless karting WINS and titles. By 2018 he was the ADAC Formel 4 Champion, with 10 WINS and 13 podiums in 21 starts. Since then, Lirim has tried DTM, F3, F2 and the Toyota Racing Series, but figures that USF Pro 2000 may be the perfect fit for his particular talents, based on the advice of good friend and former teammate Raoul Hyman. (Note: Hyman topped the USF Pro 2000 Fall Combines last October but then WON a full scholarship from Honda to drive in Japan’s Super Formula, shortly thereafter).

Said Lirim, “I want to win, and I am confident that I can do that with Tim Neff and his TJ Speed outfit. They have earned back-to-back driver and team championships (in FR Americas) and while I know USF Pro 2000 is a new program for them, their professionalism and approach to success are unmatched.”

Both these guys will be exciting additions to the new USF Pro 2000 season, as some of Europe’s finest young talents look to the series as a tool for rapid advancement.

The 15-year-old had a good year in the Juniors for SFHR, collecting 5 TOP TENS in a partial season of 13 outings, with a best finish of P4 at Road America. Now, it’s time to go to the next step with enthusiastic sponsorship from Drive Planning.

.
Said Elliot, “I am incredibly grateful and excited for Drive Planning to race along with me this season as they bring their mission to put their clients on the fast track to ‘Keep More, Make More, Live More’ to the USF 2000 series. I am looking forward to getting the season started with the Drive Planning 67 car on the track!”

In USF Pro 2000 news, 20-year-old Indiana native Jackson Lee is graduating from two partial seasons in USF2000 with Cape Motorsports to take on the # 47 Tatuus IP-22 for Peter Dempsey’s Turn 3 Motorsports.

After a multi-race WINNING season of FRP 1600 in 2020 Jackson WON a Team USA Scholarship. In 2022 the son of broadcaster Kevin Lee ran a partial season in USF2000 with a best finish of P7 at St. Petersburg. Along with the 2023 season of racing he will be folding in his attendance as a student at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) where he is pursuing a degree in Motorsports Engineering.

.
Said Jackson, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to be back in the race car and to move up to the USF Pro 2000 level with Turn 3 Motorsport. I raced for Peter Dempsey’s Dad, Cliff, with the Team USA Scholarship program in the UK, and I can already tell from pre-season testing that I’m going to work well with Peter and the team. I am excited to see what we can achieve together and look forward to a strong season."

.
Finally, Mexican stand-out Salvador de Alba has announced that his sophomore year of USF Pro 2000 will be done driving for Exclusive Autosport. With a very successful stock car career behind him, Salvador’s 2022 season of IP2K with Jay Howard Driver Development was his for foray into formula cars, but a WINNER is a WINNER and Salvador proved to be a quick study, with two WINS, one pole, four podiums and six TOP FIVE finishes, finishing eighth in the championship. He was one of the most exciting assets of the series.

Said the 23-year-old, “First of all, I’m thrilled to continue racing in the USA. I am thankful that I have sponsors that believe in this project. I feel way more prepared now that I know almost all the tracks that we are racing at this season! In addition, I would like to thank the Exclusive Autosport team, and I will do my very best to put the Archandel and Red Cola car on top of the chart.”

.
.
Salvador’s signing brings the UP2K squad for EA up to four, with Lindsay Brewer, Joel Granfors and Yuven Sundaramoorthy already signed. Both de Alba and Sundaramoorthy were stars at the Fall Combines, making them excellent team anchors.

She’s IN!!..Katherine Legge returns to the Indianapolis 500 for 2023…

.
…and she will be driving a Honda for Rahal Letterman Lanigan. The former Champ Car driver has been to the 500 twice before but this may be her best shot at the great race.

.
Katherine Legge

.
Despite years of running well for Mike Shank Racing in IMSA competition, Katherine has recently had a rough few seasons, starting in 2020 when she crashed in France during a test for the European Le Mans Series. She broke her wrist and both legs, putting her in a wheelchair for months. She was supposed to return to full-time IMSA racing in 2022, driving a Porsche, but the team she was on folded mid-season and never had a chance.

Things finally came together this year when her old pals at HPD found her willing and wanting to join their latest effort in the GTD class of the WeatherTech series in an Acura NSX GT3, which was her most successful mount in her heydays with Mike Shank Racing, when she took a similar car to the Vice-Championship in 2018.

That new effort has already born fruit, as she and fellow Gradiant Racing driver Sheena Monk pulled down a P4 out of 17 at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, with help from Marc Miller and Mario Farnbacher.

Katherine has a good history with Rahal Letterman Lanigan. She drove in the electric Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy series for them in 2019, giving them a WIN and three podiums. At the 500 she will be teamed with team regulars Graham Rahal, Christian Lundgaard and fellow brit Jack Harvey. The # 44 Honda will have primary sponsorship from Hendrickson, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of suspension systems and components to the commercial transportation industry, so this is yet another B-to-B sponsorship that IndyCar is getting to be famous for.

Said the 42-year-old, “I am thrilled to be back at Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for the biggest race in the world, the Indy 500. Bobby gave me my first chance to win races for the team in the Jaguar I-PACE series a few years ago and it feels like a homecoming of sorts to be back with the team, especially seeing as I’m also very proud to be back with HPD in IMSA, and now in the IndyCar Series.

“Racing at Indy with an Indy 500-winning team and with Honda is an amazing opportunity, and one I am very grateful for and intend to make the most of. I’m hoping I can learn from my teammates and team members, and transition smoothly back to open-wheel racing for May. I can’t wait to get to work!”

.
.
.
One thing is for sure: This will be a very popular car with long-time fans of both IndyCar and the Indy 500.
