IG Report on Comey

The long awaited IG report on Comey…

“found no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the memos to members of the media.”

That’s really strange considering comey testified under oath that he did leak classified info to his friend for the sole purpose of getting it to the media and having a special counsel appointed.

Holiday weekend document dump.

Pretty clear what trump needs to do now.

What is it Trump needs to do?

Did you predict this was gonna happen already? Like a day or two ago?

Had a feeling.

But Conan probably posted something along those lines.

We really ought to rename the group to Political Prohpets.

“We have previously faulted Comey for acting unilaterally and inconsistent with Department policy.103 Comey’s unauthorized disclosure of sensitive law enforcement information about the Flynn investigation merits similar criticism. In a country built on the rule of law, it is of utmost importance that all FBI employees adhere to Department and FBI policies, particularly when confronted by what appear to be extraordinary circumstances or compelling personal convictions. Comey had several other lawful options available to him to advocate for the appointment of a Special Counsel, which he told us was his goal in making the disclosure. What was not permitted was the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive investigative information, obtained during the course of FBI employment, in order to achieve a personally desired outcome. The OIG has provided this report to the FBI and to the Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility for action they deem appropriate

There is more at stake here than whether the data was confidential. Note: “…other lawful…” options were available. What does that tell us about the legality of the option taken?
I wonder what those “actions deemed appropriate” will be?

Comey must be absolutely devastated that nothing is going to happen to him. After Hannity and all got his hopes up, a mere slap on the wrist. Sad!

This is my shocked face.

You do know that FBI and the DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility don’t prosecute? Right? Those referrals are for personnel actions… Since Comey is no longer an employee, what personnel actions do you think they might take?

Thank you, Doug.

DOJ letting one of their own off the hook? No way.

We don’t know what those “other actions they deem appropriate” will be.
You do realize that the FBI can make recommendations regarding prosecution for specific crimes, don’t you?
Comey knows that quite well.

“Upon completing its investigation, the OIG provided its factual findings to the Justice Department for a prosecutorial decision regarding Comey’s conduct, as required by the Inspector General Act. After reviewing the matter, the DOJ declined prosecution,” the office said in a statement.

Is there a “dishonorable discharge” equivalent to being a ■■■■ bag in the FBI?

So we can put this to rest, right.
Right?

I will not rehash this indefinitely like the Dems are doing the Mueller report.
However, if the “other actions” don’t contain some sort of penalty, this is a green light for more political leaking from the FBI.

This was simply the investigation into Comey releasing his memos to the press and is quite different from the larger investigation into the FISA abuse. This report is not the long awaited report, but a separate investigation.

We have previously faulted Comey for acting unilaterally and inconsistent with Department policy. Comey’s unauthorized disclosure of sensitive law enforcement information about the Flynn investigation merits similar criticism.

The OIG has provided this report to the FBI and to the Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility for action they deem appropriate.

Into whether or not there was any FISA abuse.
