New details are emerging surrounding the Inspector General’s upcoming report into the DOJ’s botched Clinton investigation, with the material confirming that former FBI Director James Comey “deviated” from FBI procedures during his Hillary probe.
According to Bloomberg, the watchdog found Comey was operating “clearly and dramatically from FBI and department norms,” adding his decisions “negatively impacted the perception of the FBI and the department as fair administrators of justice.”
“While we did not find that these decisions were the result of political bias on Comey’s part, we nevertheless concluded that by departing so clearly and dramatically from FBI and department norms, the decisions negatively impacted the perception of the FBI and the department as fair administrators of justice,” says the report, obtained by Bloomberg Thursday morning.
The full document is expected to be released to members of Congress within hours and to the public later Thursday.
