Sealed indictments are a real thing and are not at all uncommon in corruption or organized crime investigation.
You get the sealed indictments first and use them the pressure the underlings into giving up the bigger actors.
And in high profile cases, in DC, the rumors eventually fly.
Yet as we’ve seen in many high profile cases with sealed indictments there were no leaks in some cases for years until they were ready to reel everyone in.
I’d say, not this high profile.
There were never any cases more high profile than the cases that brought down the Italian mob on the East Coast. None more dangerous to the participants either.
I don’t rank mob cases anywhere near this high.
I’m guessing you’re very young then. They lit up the news cycle like nothing since the Kennedy Assassination.
