Iv voted Third Party every election but one

And I the opposite. I have voted Democratic Party in all but one.

Third party could interest me but not this out.

Interestingly, I voted straight republican from 1990 (the first election I was eligible ) until 2016 with the exception of 1 year where I voted 3rd party for president instead of McCain. And this was every primary, every runoff, and every general election, as well as every special election.

Then, in 2016, I voted 3rd party because both candidates were so awful. 2020 will mark the first time I vote for a democrat as president.

And I know of plenty of others like me.

Well, yeah- you can start randomly ignoring certain states in hypothetical calculations, but since CA is part of the US we can’t ignore that vote.

For me this is another election in which I would like to see both of the mainstream candidates lose. I would assume that I am not alone with this sentiment. I always felt that a viable third party could be successful if it leaned fiscally conservative, socially liberal but in the middle regarding immigration, healthcare, etc. So who else out there would be motivated to vote 3rd party if they had a very good chance of winning and had enough in their platform that you favored?

PS - I wanted to do a poll but don’t know how.

I would never vote for a socially liberal candidate.
