I’m not the only madman pondering this question. It’s being talked about in the White House as well.
They are debating his mental state, the threat escalation and this is the reason the U.S. didn’t test a missile last week defense secretary Lloyd Austin thought it could provoke him.
Maybe I have read to many Tom Clancy novels but that was always the big threat a rogue attack sometime perpetuated by a madman ruler. No one knows not me not you not the government what Putin is thinking.

Are we sure Putin is rationale right now he is talking crazy nuke stuff while his tanks shot at a nuclear power plant setting it on fire six times size of Chernobyl.
People get desperate they tend to do desperate things, supposedly the sanctions are crushing the average Russian who has nothing to do with this. We did this with Kim he remained in power his people starved. People are now starting to worry that Russia might exactly do something crazy.
They hit the admin building, not the reactors or the control room. Just being clear on what was hit, not in any way defending it.
