You can’t protect them from their own words.
Can too.
Huh. That’s too bad.
What are we to make of the words of our leaders and their staff tripping a Godwin’s Law circuit breaker?
I didn’t know that guy was a mod.
That thread was not “Godwin’s Law.”
That thread was republicans’ own words tying them to fascist rhetoric.
If it were democrats regurgitating Mao or Marx, would the thread still be there.
A response please.
“Godwin’s Law”
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.
In this thread, there was no “growing longer” and the republicans in question required no “comparison”, they flat out said it. “I have a NAZI streak.” “I love Hitler.”
That is not “Godwin’s Law.” Nobody from this forum “grew” the discussion into it, their own words started it there.
Closing the thread doesn’t change the facts or allow hiding from it.
Please open it back up.
From Mike Godwin himself:
He has since made it clear that, in his opinion, the alt-right, especially the participants in the 2017 Charlottesville Unite the Right rally, deserve comparisons to the Nazis.[39][40] He has also stated in the press several times, from 2015 to 2023, that informed comparison of U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump to Hitler could be valid.
Welcome to being on the wrong side in Hannityland.
That’s what I’m saying.
