This is a master class on how to lose support on a winning issue. I believe even a good chunk of the average Democratic voters want a secure border and the “worst of the worst” deported. If Trump had stuck with this his popularity would be growing not plummeting.

Very true, if ICE was focused on those who are gang members and a real danger to society, it would gain support, instead they are going for low hanging fruit. Sure some very violent individuals have been caught up and that is good but the majority of people are not a drain on society, are working and just want to live peacefully.
I am not condoning or supporting open borders just saying the focus by ICE right now is on the wrong people,
I wonder if this purge is to get the numbers down to a level to allow some kind of magnanimous amnesty-type gesture.
