We’re supporting some local efforts to keep families housed. but it’s really kind of pointless. HUD is putting the hammer down, creating more homelessness, and the muni governments so far seem powerless.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much we can do except call out where raids are taking place and run interference when possible. It does seem opposition is swelling among the general public. Hopefully, it becomes too loud to ignore.
“An agency spokesperson said the family was arrested because the mother was “attempting to smuggle illegal aliens into the U.S. on June 28” – a claim the woman’s sister has denied in published reports.“
You would think her sister saying she didn’t do it would have cleared up the whole thing.

So…after what amount of time does someone illegally in the US automatically attain legal residency? You may want an amnesty for people in the US illegally for two decades, but congress has passed no,such law.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials will be given access to the personal data of the nation’s 79 million Medicaid enrollees, including home addresses and ethnicities, to track down immigrants who may not be living legally in the United States, according to an agreement obtained by The Associated Press.
No, I didn’t vote for it, but if it is helpful in removing people who are not only in the country illegally but also stealing Medicaid benefits, I’m all for it.
The government obviously has that information (or would if I were signed up willingly for Medicaid). This just permits its use for a specific enforcement measure.
