By all means, check your kids candy. When they are really young, sure, go with them.
But the charm of halloween is knocking on neighbors doors, letting them greet you, showing off the decorations and seeing your costumes…Not yet another party that some kids don’t get invited to, and that prevent your neighbors from enjoying a night seeing the neighborhood kids.
IMO.
Halloween used to be one of the best nights in our very physically and neighborly tight neighborhoods. Now it kind of sucks.
I agree! It use to be a magical time. In our HOA there is a rule that you must be outside your house when handing candy in plain site so people can see you and you see them. You can’t knock on doors that are shut. It definitely does suck, and times are changing. You can check the candy all you want, but people are so good at this now you almost have to get the candy wanded for foreign substances. The HOA wanted to ensure the safety of the treater and the resident. Call it what you want, it is what it is.
You’re just making up fairytale scenarios to justify…what? Your neighbors dressing their kid up as ICE agent and parading him around the neighborhood? Where he wasn’t assaulted and neither were they?
C’mon man get real.
No children were in danger at your house or mine. It was just another Halloween.
Well that kid in San Antonio eating at a Whataburger would argue that apparel does get you assaulted. It’s also hard to assault someone when their parents are there with him and his sibling. There is always a certain element of danger like Pedos.
The Department of Homeland Security later released a statement claiming that Figueroa was at fault, saying “she crashed into an unmarked government vehicle and violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers.”
Figueroa was released the same day a few hours later without charges.
All that to end up with no charges, huh. Luckily for her there is video.
