You might want to give this video a listen. It’s Ric Flair talking to TMZ about Hogan right after he died.
He may not have technically been on Ric Flair’s level, but even Ric knows the truth.

Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Andre the Giant are all on my Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling.
He’s devastated that was a sad watch
I would add the 4th. Rowdy Roddy.
Yeah he’s definitely up there. Brett Hart would be another.
Hulkamania was a raging alcoholic who also abused steroids.
He clearly didn’t do enough drugs.
Ozzy clearly didn’t work out enough.
It’s all about balance, as they say.
Though we know that, he is saying what we have to say. But I’ll say the greatest wrestlers are Flair, Inoki, Ospreay, and Misawa. It will offend many, but Inoki was the glue of mainstreaming the pseudosport. See the Clay-Inoki exhibition that some call the beginning of MMA. Inoki wrestled Hogan where Hogan used the Axe Bomber lariat, the move Vince didn’t want him to use. Of course, AEW champion “Hangman” Adam Page uses a Buckshot lariat. Somebody in AEW will likely use an Axe Bomber to pay tribute because it’s his NJPW finisher.
If you add a 4th, it’s got to be this guy.
If you see this guy and a bear, feel sorry for the bear!
Yeah, it may all be scripted, but they take a hell of a lot of abuse to make it look good.
Always scripted, but never fake.
Ya I think the steroid part puts huge stress on the body, many have went out way younger than Hulk because of it. One thing Hogan and Ozzy have in common was all the surgeries which takes a toll as well.
As ‘Diamond’ Dallas Page once said, “You can’t fake gravity!”
