They imagine they would be that educated and superior to their opponents. If you go to the bottom of their claims you expose them as not that educated and actually a bunch of arrogant bigheaded wanna-be smartasses.
The OP expose some of that “skills” in his post already - he thinks his fellow liberals are superior to republican opponents and explain his scheme according to that. You can also make a lot of fun of them as they imagine and act as they would be something special - imo the best you can do because they cant stand if you throw them under the bus.

I think it was the personality shift that threw me off, but i can’t judge as I do that all the time. Sometimes within the same post back and forth.
