But we were talking about money and you went to Jews. That brought laughter to an otherwise phenomenal morning. I hope this week never ends, it’s going great.
The entirety of this battle has nothing to do with anti semitism or foreign students or even Harvard itself
It’s all part of trying to shift secondary education rightward. Best way to do it too. Take away all federal money for as long as you hold the white hiuse. Spend federal money on litigation doing it. Eventually lose the White House and see the agenda disappear. Smort
If Harvard has 30% foreign students, that means they are all on student visas. Although the thread is about why so many foreign students while there are lines of US citizens applying, the current public controversy is about US approval of the visas. The US has demanded records that will help determine that the students are complying with the terms of their visas. Harvard has not made those records available. Hence, the visas will be terminated unless the students transfer to another university.
They can also disqualify Harvard as a place where students will be granted visas.
If not, let the ACLU or other usual groups find an Obama judge to block this (until expedited to the Supreme Court)
The government is simply requiring an institution to provide records needed to determine if its foreign students are complying with their visas. If the institution can’t do that, they can’t support visas.
Of course the petitioners knew exactly which judge to go to to get their nationwide ban.
Expect an expedited appeal reaching the Supreme Court.
My guess…at some point the Supreme Court is going to get tired of this forum shopping for nationwide injunctions.
