How Do We Feel About Sinema Harassment?

Makes for a good soundbite. But in reality that’s crazy. And luckily the vast majority of people disagree with you.

Where’s the line?

It depends.

Bathrooms are no nos.

Planes? Depends.

This one was pretty mellow- but how about if she didn’t walk away- does she get 5 minutes? 10? 30? What if she is more aggressive with her questioning? There is no exit. I’d prefer a blanket rule of “don’t bother the politician when they are trapped on a plane.”

The Senator should have taken her mask off for a few seconds…that would have gotten the flight attendants attention right away!

Context does matter. The little Daca child’s tone of voice and manner is unimportant…she was on a public airplane full of people accosting another passenger for her own personal benefit and gratification…I think that’s a big one on the list of things you are not allowed to do on an airplane.

And I’m not a fan of blanket rules.

If she got out of hand, the flight attendants take over. That’s their job.

Maybe if elected officials made themselves more available to the public, I’d agree…but they don’t, so…

I think that is the problem. Politicians can evade the plebs almost everywhere. That makes them an easy mark on a plane where they can’t escape. But opening the door to badgering them on planes could lead to a floodgate of this happening. Sorry I disagree.

At the airport, there appeared to be a number of people all at once haranguing Sinema while she was talking on the phone. How did this happen?
On the plane, who held camera?
If this is an organized harassment campaign a la Waters, then it is wrong…not to mention likely to fail in the objective.
If we were talking just an individual who happened to see a politician and that person did an “ahem…my I ask you something?” over something very important to them, that would be a different situation.

Argumentum ad populum? Tsk, tsk.

I’d make an actual argument- but its so obvious why bother.

Yep. A mob. Who just happened to bump into her. Serendipity.

Progressivism make people bad.

You know I’m bad. Im bad. You know it.

she was impeding other passengers from boarding the plane, as such, she was out of hand. no matter how polite

It appears from the video I watched that she was all the way in the rear of the plane. So she likely wasn’t impeding anybody.

I’m happy to have different standards of what is harassment from others.

The airport scene was meh (maybe a little less meh because Sinema was on the phone…could have been an act but still…). This was meh. The bathroom was wrong.

If you’re in politics and you thought the airport and plane incidents were harassment…my advice is…get out of politics.

I bet Sinema herself had less of a problem with these than others did. She appeared to only complain about the bathroom incident.

My last post on the subject. This needs to be just like kindergarten…the same rules for everyone. After this girl gets her two minutes that opens the door for
The next person to get 3 maybe more rudely.

This is one passenger harassing another passenger…

If Karina wa blocking the aisle during boarding they should have kicked her off the plane.

she was in the last seats of her compartment. otherwise, are you seriously asserting that its okay depending on seating arrangement?

This kind of nonsense isn’t just inappropriate, it’s counterproductive. Do people really think they’re going to change someone’s mind by filming them in the bathroom? If anything, this make Sinema less likely to do what they want her to do.

Yes I am…everything has its context.

Blanket rules are silly for the most part.

Jan 6th is also part of process.

so we should have boarding rules and regulations that are seat dependent?

first class: walk through briskly, say nothing.
coach: proceed apace
economy: dance in the aisle if you wish
