When citizens of Maryland disagree with a statute or legislative bill enacted by the state legislature, they can collect signatures to force the issue to a vote. If enough signatures are collected, the bill is placed on the statewide ballot.
Mike Pence and Betsy DeVos visiting a North Carolina school with no masks on. Leading by example during their fevered push to reopen schools would just be too much to ask this group of morons.
A grim possibility if we keep on our present path is we’ll begin to see a global COVID decoupling, where much of Europe and Asia are mostly able to keep epidemics at bay but the U.S. can’t, and sees higher and persistent infection and slower GDP growth; and has a cordon sanitaire remain imposed on us from other nations. Trump’s failures are destroying us in so many ways right now.
Same here brother. But with numbers like these coming out of the state, his odds go down with each passing day. Trump is severely upside down in all polling relative to his handling of COVID.
Leadership begins at the top. Screw Trump for making mask wearing a ■■■■■■■ partisan issue. He is responsible for so much of this chaos.
An administrative staffer who often visits multiple offices estimated that mask wearing was “nearly universal in Democratic offices” but was “probably under 50 percent” among Republicans.
Masking has become a “political minefield” that creates awkward encounters on occasion, this person recounted: “[S]ome GOP offices ask why you are wearing a mask, which puts our staff in an awkward position — do you say because of the pandemic and risk the office taking that as a political stand? Do you take it off to make them feel better?”
Seriously, what in the hell is wrong with the GOP?
