Its impossible to have a coherent ongoing discussion at either X or Facebook, message boards like this are specifically designed for in depth and meaningful (sometimes ) . Then again there are probably entire generations now that have only used the likes of Facebook
Probably true.
Then again no one was asking for the computer mouse.
And as Hentry Ford famously said “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would ahve told me ‘A faster horse.’”
I signed up with Facebook when it was actually a cool place for teens and young adults to have an account. It was during the first wave of the Great mySpace Migration (a real event lol).
It’s now just a Day Room for the assisted living (along with about 400 million bots). Even TikTok has peaked.
I joined Facebook to keep in contact with my kids. And no sooner than I did that, the kids abandoned Facebook. I now use Facebook to keep in contact with other parents whose kids and grandkids quit using Facebook.
I have to say that the interaction between our members in this topic has been a pleasant break from what I usually see. The same is true about the gardening topic that went on a short time ago. By all means don’t let this temper all of you in our political engagements. It is just nice to see mutual pleasantness from time to time.
