4:05 PM ET - Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House, author of Trump’s America: The Truth about Our Nation’s Great Comeback, his latest NY Times bestseller, is outraged by the circus that has evolved around Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings. It is all but impossible to go anywhere and not hear about the Judge and the accusations, with zero evidence or corroboration, being brought against him. From the Speaker’s op-ed today:

Republicans should have no doubt what is at stake in the current desperate, despicable, dishonest smear campaign against Judge Kavanaugh.

The absurdity of the New Yorker smear should make clear what this fight is about power. When an anti-conservative story is so phony the New York Times can’t bring itself to publish it, you know it is absurd. The New Yorker has set a new low for smear articles with no foundation in facts.

The very dishonesty of the New Yorker smear seems to have liberated Senator McConnell and others to be blunt about the character assassination that is underway.

Seen in this context the goal of the Thursday hearing will have nothing to do with seeking the truth. When there is no corroboration for 35-year-old memories how can the truth be the goal?

Democrats have already practiced the politics of hysteria, defamation, and character assassination. The “Spartacus” moment of Senator Cory Booker was a warning of how hysterical, hateful, and aggressive the Democrats will be. Senator Hirono’s assertion
" I just want to say to the men in this country: Just shut up," give you some idea how she will approach the Republican male senators in the hearing.

If the game is rigged and the truth is not the goal, what should Republicans focus on?

Put simply, there is no alternative to confirming Judge Kavanaugh.

4:30 PM ET - Juanita Broaddrick, author of “You Better Put Some Ice on That” relives the harrowing experience between her and the former Governor of Arkansas. The media was not interested in Juanita’s story or her pain for that matter, they wanted Bill Clinton in office. They didn’t care about Broaddrick’s experience, as she prayed that someone would listen; but no one did, and Clinton went on to become President.

From Juanita’s book:

The books detail the harrowing experience she suffered at the hands of the former Governor of Arkansas and President of the United States. In the midst of the #metoo movement, where celebrities pat each other on the back for wearing black at the Golden Globes, despite the women they denied a voice to years ago when they tried to speak out; Juanita’s book sheds light on a movement that has been too selective in its decision on who to stand up for, and when. From her press release:

Juanita Broaddrick has released a new book detailing her rape at the hands of Bill Clinton and other details of her life. The Arkansas grandmother says that in 1978, then Arkansas Attorney General Bill Clinton attacked her in a hotel room in Little Rock.

She further states that shortly after the rape, she was approached by Hillary Rodham Clinton, who made statements she perceived to be threats to keep quiet.
Broaddrick partnered with Nick Lulli, an award-winning investigative journalist, to release the new book, entitled You’d Better Put Some Ice On That. The title is a reference to what Clinton said to Broaddrick after he raped and battered her, leaving her lip swollen and bloodied.

“It was a no-brainer for me to help her tell the story,” says Lulli. “I have interviewed thousands of people in my life and when you talk to Juanita, you know she’s telling the truth.”

5:05 PM ET - President Trump’s United Nations address.
